Remember visiting years ago and enjoyed their food so went for lunch with two friends. Must say standards have been maintained, if not even improved. Made a reservation for 12.30 pm and we're ushered in a bit earlier since they had kept a table for...us. It was packed and some without reservations even accepted the counter seats. There's a very good set lunch deal with salad, soup and coffee/ tea with the main course. The corn soup was good though could have been heated till piping hot, lukewarm but still tasted good. The sliced vegetable salad was just ok but the mains were excellent. Two of us enjoyed the Hamburg steak with onsen egg and boiled cauliflower and broccoli. We could either have bread or rice with it. My other friend enjoyed her chicken curry too. The coffee was wonderfully smooth, just the way I liked it, served in a sparkling clean cup and saucer. We ordered the mango tart to share for an additional $9.80. went beautifully with the tea/coffee, fresh cream and crumbly tart with generous mango chunks. Impeccable service from start to finish, water offered and noticed there was hand sanitizer on the table! Nice thick paper napkins too. Such a wonderful meal for $63 plus, shall certainly come again and bring more friends!More

I was introduced to this place more than 10 years ago. While the menu and available items have been reduced, the taste is as I remembered. First time trying their cocktail and it's good. Oh, there's a Ma Maison drink or something that's actually Kickapoo...with ice-cream. Worth the return visit after so long!More

We were looking for a nice place to have dinner while we were at Anchorpoint. Ma Maison looked like a cozy little restaurant. Unfortunately the food and service were disappointing. A non-responsive lady took our order without exhibiting any emotions. She did not acknowledge what...we ordered, simply marked the order form nonchalantly, so we were not sure whether she heard us. The beef in the Beef Katsu & Straganoff was hard and tough to chew. Honestly, the beef has to be the worst I've ever had. The saving grace was the omelette butter rice. My daughter has always loved spaghetti bolognese, so she happily ordered the Bolognaise. To her dismay, the spaghetti was utterly undercooked and hard, drenched with oil that tasted rancid. The meager amount of bolognese sauce was, I hate to say this, disgusting and revolting - grossly diluted and tasted like it had been left out for days. I informed a gentleman (presumably the manager as he was wearing a tie) of the disappointing quality of the food when paying the bill. He said that the spaghetti for the Bolognaise was supposed to be hard, to my surprise! He acknowledged my feedback though, and gave me two pieces of $10 vouchers for our next visit - I assume as a token of apology. We certainly would not like to visit Ma Maison at Anchorpoint again - we would hate to face the expressionless waitress one more time, and worse, the inedible food. 🤢More

Worst dining experience I ever had in my life. We waited at the entrance for 10 minutes and no one attended to us, so we walked in. Then one male service staff approched us and lead us to the last table at the end of the restaurant outside the kitchen entrance. Along the super narrow walkway to our seats, a female service staff was holding something, she reversed and knocked into me. I apologized to her but she glared at me angrily. So I just kept quiet and proceed to our seats. We both sat thete for 10 minutes without given menu and no one attended to us for 10 minutes. Then the manager came to us with menu. After ordering our food, that female service staff that knocked into me came to our tableholding the main course that I had ordered and stood beside me glaring at me angrily and refused to pass me my food. I tried to smile at her and said thank you to her but she still continue to hold on to my food and glared at me. What kind of attitude is this? So I had to look away and waited till she is done with her glaring then she placed my food at the edge of the table far away from me. I would say this place is very dangerous and prone to accidents because of the super narrow walkways , also super poor service and rude service staff with very serious attitude problems. Very unpleasant dining experience. I would not recommend this place to my family and friends. This would be my first time here and it will also be my last time here. So sickening.More

I often visit Ma Maison (Takashimaya and 100am) but it was my first time visiting Ma Maison Bugis. As I have a group of 8, I called 2 days in advance to make reservation. I was told they do not take reservation for weekend, need...to queue and is first come first served. As I have a big group, I went to queue before the restaurant opens. I was surprised that they have a sign informing customers that we need to be a complete group before we can be seated, which I have never seen at other outlets that I went. Some of my family members could not come on time, as soon as the restaurant opened, I checked with the Japanese waitress if we could be seated and order the food for them first. I was told no and was totally ignored and she proceeded to admit other customers in the queue. I tried to ask again but was told must follow rule. I was shocked as my experience at Ma Maison has been good. Staff were warm and friendly but this waitress was curt and cold. We were left being ignored. The restaurant should have informed me about the requirement that we need to have a complete group before we could be seated when I called up. The waitress could have managed it with tact. We will never return to the restaurant as we felt we were not welcomed at all.More

I have tried the dinner at their outlet at Alexander but did not like it. I went to this Bugis branch with my friend and had a good dining experience. Fairly good service, cosy ambience. The set lunch is superb value for money. Highly recommended!

Our party of four went to the one at Takashimaya. The wait staff in white ( the younger ones) were polite and friendly when reminding us that the plates are piping hot and obliging to our requests. Food wise, the aging Tonkatsu sets were tasty...and delicious. Less satisfactory were the carbonara which was dry with very little or no cream and the over cooked salmon - which was a recommended choice. To make matters worse, our evening dinner was thoroughly spoilt by the rudest restaurant manager ever and the appalling service displayed. You cant miss him. He is the only one wearing a tie. From the get go, you could see that he is truly not interested in his job from how he condescendingly repeated our restaurant menu orders to the way he told us to mask up and sarcastically warning us about the 300 dollar offence ( nothing wrong to good reminders on Masking but even the Social distancing ambassadors I meet at Hawker centres were more polite and civil!). Our final order of the Tonkatsu set was delayed and when asked, all he could do was a dismissive and curt - ‘wait lah’. Finally, ‘not a word of good bye, and see you again’ when we left. His unprofessional attitude is a huge disservice to the industry, its owners and the restaurant reputation and has left a thorough bitter aftertaste to our dining experience. We went there for a double significant celebration and instead felt that we were policed and watched the whole time. Just plan awful and never stepping in there again. I feel sorry for the younger wait staff for the lack of good experienced role models in service attitude and mannerisms for you could see the whites were really trying to do their job well. For them and the Tonkatsu - 2 circles.More

We have been eating this branch for no of years at least 1 to 2 times per year. Their tonkatsu remains consistent good for all the years although serving and presentation change a little all those years It is tender and not overcook. The sauce...has reduce a bit. About their western food like steak is good and tender. The standard does not lose to a western restaurant. My observation such kind of Japanese western fusion restaurant seem to maintain good quality consistency in singaporeMore

Nice tarts! We chose banana and strawberry and both are delicious. I prefer the desserts over the main course, which is a nice Hamburger steak. Cosy place to chill and catchup with friends. Very prompt and friendly service.

I have had my first Ma Maison @this outlet decades ago, never did i expect that when i returned lately to the Tanjong Pagar outlet, its standard (originated from Nagoya) is still consistently good!!!!!!!!!!!!!How did it even achieve that despite having so many outlets to...manage??!?!?!?!! We have a japanese Omu-rice but with mushroom sauce for a twist! and hamburger steak! so yummie! and even its strawberry ice-cream is good. Worth pointing out it is at reasonably priced! Agreeing with most, the Lunch set is definitely value-for-$$$!! comes with a salad green and a dessert (only ice-cream) or Coffee/tea/drinks The ambience is both cosy and peaceful hence making it a good venue for any kind of discussion or gathering. i like the fact that it even has an bar-setting table, even though generally it is furnished with an old coffee house feel!More
