Was totally let-down by a so-claimed best yakiniku place in Singapore and therefore decided to visit Gyu-Kaku at Chijmes when an occasion called for yakiniku again. I have not visited the local branches here though I've been to the ones in Japan. The major difference...between the one at Chijmes and those in Japan is the pricing. Gyu-Kaku in Japan represents value; in Singapore it is a little pricey. The beef in Japan is also a little more tender. Service was not impressive at this branch. The manager had a couldn't be bothered attitude and this of course will affect the service standard of his staff. Nevertheless we had enjoyed the buffet and I am glad that I have the option of Gyu-kaku in this city. Still better than some very overpriced but disappointing places. .More

We had 3 orders of set lunch : 2 pork & 1 Australian wagyu. Portions not big , miso soup lukewarm, kimchi tiny saucer, sauces ok but I preferred something spicy which they don’t have, salad had dressing. (Would hv preferred on side by choice)....Nice gesture by Tricia- a mango pudding for birthday girl. We adjourned for tea & toast right after as our tummies were not that full. New staff didn’t pay much attention like :- no tongs after raw meats were served, telling us salad comes pre-made w dressing, No spicy dipping sauce- (chilli garlic oil that they charge couldn’t make it at all).More

If you’re a carnivorous like myself. The all you can eat buffet is definitely value for money! Recommend to come during weekday for less crowd. For weekends do made reservation early.

So today I found out that ordering alarcarte is cheaper than the buffet. And we were still very full! Jyou Karubi was the bomb. I also love Negi Shio Tongue. The Kimchi is also not too sour and delicious. So far, the service at this...outlet was he best too!! Will visit this outlet again.More

For 10 years i have been eating yakiniku in SG and this is the best there is (price, taste & ambience). I have also sampled yakiniku in Japan & Taiwan. This is really good.

Went to this restaurant for birthday celebration (foc beef cafe by showing your NRIC to the staff). Decent choices of wagyu with reasonable price and all meats were tasty. IMO, you should go for the buffet package instead of ala-carte if you have more pax....Our ala-carte orders + free beef cake were just nice for 90% full with the bill amount about the same as buffet package.More

The meat quality is not that good. I can get a better quality for this kind of price. Not worth it. Service is slow and the staff did not walk over to our side often as we are at the end of the restaurant.
