We have been staying regularly at the Shangri-La for the last 13 years and always use the Line for daily breakfast and a few nights of our stay. The children insist on eating there and have fond memories of it. I’ve always been a bit confused about which nights include alcohol and it isn’t made clear, so worth asking. As vegetarians, it can feel expensive for the choice offered, but for fish and meat eaters the choices are excellent. This year our son has become fructose intolerant, which made his choices more limited, but he was taken under the wing of Chef de Cuisine, Lim Kuan Loong. He sought us out each time and made individual rice or noodle dishes for both our children. The highlight was when he took our son to a chef behind the Indian station to make paratha and a tissue dosa. Thank you, LK.

Dear c0rb1ere,
Thank you for staying with us, and for your utmost loyalty!
I cannot be happier to know that you and your family enjoy dining at The Line, and that your children have fond memories of us. As an international buffet, we strive to offer something for everyone. I am glad that Chef Kuan Long is able to cater to your son's dietary requirements and was able to allow him to have some fun experiences behind one of our buffet stations.
We certainly look forward to welcoming you back for more merry times at The Line!

We had just flown in from Thailand and were starving so decided to check out the buffet. I am always reluctant with buffets as a vegetarian as I will never get my money’s worth. I said this to the waitress and she kindly gave me 50% off. My husband well and truly got his money’s worth haha. Oysters, crab, sirloin steak, waygu beef, sushi, cheeses, stir fries, curries, salads I could go on. The desserts were also amazing! Chocolate fountain, gelato station, hot desserts, cold desserts... it was so much fun and we were provided with free water. Would highly recommend!!!

Was at the Line last evening for their first dine in a la carte buffet dinner since the April 7 lockdown. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of the food. The tables are sparsely positioned and therefore well within the safe distancing guidelines. Every table has its own QR Code and table number. The staff were attentive and helpful and in no time we were scanning the QR code and the ordering process was effortless. The orders arrived almost instantaneously and yet the food were piping hot and or appropriately chilled and with Michelin star standard presentation. From starters to desserts, the presentation is impressive, All these for just $58++, and with golden circle membership discount, it makes good value for money ! By the way, there are no extra charge for juices and coffee/tea.
I would recommend the Seafood platter, Singapore Hokkien noodles, beef tenderloin Rossini, Creamy carbonara , wagyu beef bolognaise and the Thai papaya salad and then finish it with a wide selection of desserts n coffee and tea.

Came to The Line for birthday lunch with the Mrs. Staff were sweet enough to offer complimentary cake for us upon knowing it was her birthday. Ordering items is simple and transparent - they had to switch to an online ordering system as no self-service style buffet was allowed as part of the SG government’s COVID safe distancing measures. The order system showed additional cost (if any), and a photo of the item we were ordering. As it was an online based system, anybody on the table with a phone and internet connection can order simultaneously. Orders came fast and they cleared our used plates very quickly too. Staff (especially Nicky) was helpful throughout our entire mealtime here. Service and food worth the price.

Just don’t go! Today I had my birthday dinner @ the line, most of the items from the pre covid menu were remove. It’s a birthday meal but it’s a sad story too. No live oysters, teh terik (Indian pull tea), no soba, no cheese platter, 80% of the desert items removed and much more. Price wise? Remains same as pre covid. Seafood platter comes with snow crab legs, sea snail (even though the menu claimed to be gong gong), asari clams, shrimps and mussel, how wrong can u get from mussels? It came with a unfresh taste and pungent flavor. How about the sea snail? It wasn’t those fresh and cook type, it seems to be those pre marinated type just like those canned top shell u bought in supermarket. Asian noodles? Pathetic, either u get laksa or minced pork noodle, hello bak Chor mee? Where’s the tandoori chicken, kebab? Pasta only two types, soup u get only black chicken soup or mushrooms soup, omg black chicken soup? We are talking about missing 70% of what they served pre covid, I understand the lack of international guests but we didn’t pay to go there and waiting to get served bak Chor mee or black chicken soup. We were only 2 pax, when we were lead to our table, cutlery were missing e.g crab pincer tools & kit, scissors, glass etc seems like they were not ready to serve. My wife had to specially ask for the teh terik, otherwise they would prefer to hide it from their digital menu. Gone are the previous “The Line” standard we always anticipate. Just don’t go.

1st the compliments - TQ for the arrangement of the Bday cake. The laksa & desserts were decent.
However, the entire experience of dining at The Line was a great disappointment. The food was awful & simply tasteless. Service was bad.
The seafood was iced, rock hard & simply water clogged tasteless. The chilli crabs flesh was simply watery & crumbly however, the sauce & mantou was decent. The Chinese BBQ plate, if it was from the Chinese kitchen should have been great however, it was somewhat blend & tough. The rojak - err my guest mentioned that the dough curlers could be thrown against the wall and cause a hole. It was that hard to bite on. The BBQ grill was over done with the meat so tough & burnt.
We had 2 tables joined together as there were 5 guests but the tables were unbalance & felt temporary. The service on clearing up was slow that we had to stack plates on our own.
Totally not worth the amount spent. It was a total disappointment.

We are at The Line for both breakfast and dinner buffet. Selections are lesser compared to pre COVID but adequate for breakfast. Unfortunately for the dinner buffet, we felt that for the price $68+/pax, selections are too limited (no oysters, fresh seafood, cut beef). The taste was ok only.
At least service there was good. Staff are attentive and Grace (during breakfast) is quite prompt in her service. This is important for family with small children where food were served promptly and requests attended to

We had a wonderful dinner tonight , especially service by Chen Wei. He was very hard-working ,helpful and friendly , also offer us the beverage , tea and wine. He very busy but still take care of us. When we finish one dish, he will clean immediately.
Leader Ameen also helpful us as well , he well help us arrange the table when food is arrival. Manager Victor was professional to help us register the Golden circus membership and patient of explains how's working of this membership .
Now let's talking about the buffet. Started blue crab salad is the best ,together with avacado sauce...also the seafood platter snow crab and king prawn is the best...
Prosciutto mini pizza and cheese platter was nice.
BUT Chilli crab's sauce was sweet,no taste.
Western - bbq grill mix all was cold.
We paid $58++per person for service and what we like, other totally nothings special.

I reserved a table at The Line recently for a birthday celebration via Chope and indicated in the comments that I was there for a birthday.
Within a day, I received an email from Angel (Dining Reservations) who noted this special occasion and offered a complimentary 250g birthday cake. This was a pleasant surprise and I really appreciated this extra gesture from the hotel.
The food choices were great, salmon sashimi was fresh, and I was particularly in love with the 'Teh Tarik' station, as well as the variety of hot tea bags available at The Line! Dessert range was also impressive (love the durian cake ❤️) and chocolate fondue!
I would like to take this chance to specially commend Mdm New, who was the service staff attending to our table. She was very prompt to clear our plates and often came by to check on us in terms of assistance required.
All in all, The Line has definitely lived up to the expectations of a 5 star hotel and it has been a great experience for me from reservation to actual dining.
Great job Shangri-la! I'll recommend this place for future repeat visits.

We were here for an office CNY lunch celebration and were served by New and Crystal.
New was very friendly and always has a great smile on. She readily gave recommendations on what 'Must try' desserts they had and promptly cleared the plates the when people left the table for more food.
Crystal was very helpful to add an additional seat for us when we realised that we had missed out a person during the reservations booking.
There was another staff who saw that we were struggling with a 'we-fie' and took the initiative to help take a group photo for us.
A great thank you to the staff at The Line restaurant for making our lunch celebration more delightful than expected.

Reservation service is tip top no glitch on that.
Dinning Experiences:
Food menu is quite limited especially Japanese Cuisine. If you have been to the Line before Covid, you will notice the selection of food is a lot less this time round.
Due to Covid safety rule, diners are to order their food from phone apps and the waitress will serve you the food. The phone app is easy to use but still got room of improvement... The food is served promptly probably there are a lot less diners around on the Tuesday night.
One big disappointment is that you need to pay for extra for the drinks. For a Can of Coke 320ml it is S$8.
Dessert selection is decent enough.
For the current limited food range selection, the pricing does not justified for it. I will not recommend to visit THE LINE for buffet till they improve the food menu.

Came here for a lunch buffet. Can see why this venue is consistently fully booked even during off peak season. this place has a wide selection of food, excellent tasting ones too and to top it off they have a team of excellent service staff who will attend to your needs. Mdm New was one of the staff who takes pride in serving me and the patrons in her zone. Great experience here.

Had my dinner with my girl on her birthday treat and this was the worst buffet i ever had. Food served were slow (ard 1/2hr per dish) and choice was limited. No lobster or oyster and the whole night was only waiting and waiting. Terrible experience with this kind of standard they provided. Negative star for them.

Excellent service from floor staff, Ms New and Ms Pok Ying. They were attentive and went the extra mile of arranging a set of special maki rolls which are not in the menu for us as they know it's our son's birthday.
Food quality is still as good as before but variety at the cold seafood section has apparently reduced. Oysters and Alaskan crab legs were missing this time.
Overall dining experience was still very good for our family.

Dear Mr Boon,
Thank you for visiting the Line, we are honoured to be able to celebrate your son's birthday with you!
It is a pleasure to know that our staff, New and Pok Ying, has gone the extra mile for your son's special occasion, and how it has enhanced your experience at The Line. I appreciate your kind comments about our food quality's consistency as well.
Our Alaskan crab legs are unfortunately a seasonal item, which we offer to our guests whenever available. As for oysters, we are happy to offer them not only for our Marine Harvest themed buffet on Thursdays, but for our daily dinner buffet.
We look forward to welcoming you back again soon, for more special occasions to come!
