Zion Road Food Centre Best of the prawn noodle: Fresh Taste Prawn Noodle! Very tasty and fresh!!!! 5/5
Super long Queue, worth it! We tried the $8 and $25 ones, both are nice!!
BTK Keat Chap is a classic! Should try! 4.5/5!
I went there to takeaway food.
I was at the Hokkien new stall and told the uncle hawker uncle I wanted Hokkien mee.
There was no eye contact or any form of acknowledgment. He ignored me as if he could not see or hear me....He walked into the stall.
I stood at the stall for a period of time as I thought he could have needed some time to give me an answer or perhaps he was checking if he had enough food supplies. I was standing there in front of the stall waiting.
I understand it is trying times amidst this pandemic but was this treatment necessary?
After standing in front of the stall for no apparent reason, I decided to leave since he did not want to do my business.
We were lingering in the hawker Centre for awhile as we bought other dishes. He didn’t bother about us. He was wrapping the takeaway chilli packs while we bought other dishes.
When we left and headed to the car park, the hawker followed us to carpark and shouted at us that we did not take our food. Luckily I was with dad. The hawker kept repeating himself. Then I said- 你没有理我 (you did not bother with me). The hawker then kept silent and said he will remember this! His tone was that absolutely abusive.
He did not carry the food with him to the car park. He did not ask the size of the Hokkien mee that I wanted since we did not have any conversation when I ordered.
Beware of this Hokkien mee stall.
If I was alone, would he have continued arguing and verbally abusing me?More
My go-to food are
1) Egg-Oyster Omelete at the store next to the fruit juice store.
They serve a way more awesome char kway teow than the famous stall at the corner with long line.
2) Ah Wang La Mian Xiao Long Bao Shang Hai...DumplingsMore
Yum yum yum I could have sat and ate everything under this roof. From the outside most would dismiss it as rundown or worried they would end up ill due to the reality of home expectations but go go go! The food is so tasty...full of flavour and bargain is an understatement! You can get a main mean for around £1.80!!!!!! I don't even think you can get a microwave meal for this in the UK and trust me it won't even taste half as nice.
Avoid the posh restaurants and eat where the locals eat, they eat there for a reason! Oh and don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for the otter families in the water alongside!More
This place is beside the river and quite relaxing and scenic at night, not as crowded as it used to be the iconic good is the Lau Goh Chai Tau Kueh, Char Kway Teow and Cheng Teng. The Cheng Teng shop however does not seem...to be opened these days. Come here for some authentic good Singapore Hawker fare. There are not direct MRT to here but I always take bus 75 from Outram Park MRT to come down.More
Excellent get together venue. Very clean and excellent environment. Food are delicious overall. Not squeezy and very spacious around. We like the food center very much. Thumb up for the Prawn Noddle shop. Very delicious
I found this place by accident and what a treasure trove of food places it is! I tried no 28 stall and had a large tasty beef dish for 6 dollars. I could have had smaller for 5. Considering the prices of food in other...restaurants on the river this is a find! I also went to the fresh juice stall where I had a huge orange mango and passion fruit drink made for $3, I had paid $10 for just orange juice the day before somewhere else!More
