About
A signature dining destination at Shangri-La hotels, Shang Palace is the ultimate establishment for Cantonese fine dining. Using traditional techniques with a contemporary twist, Shang Palace delights diners with a delectable harmony of old and new; including ‘lost’ dishes, award-winning signatures, and a selection of innovation creations inspired by modern day influences. The restaurant's cooking has no added MSG and features more than 60 sauces made in-house. Restaurant signatures include the sautéed boneless chicken wings skewered with abalone and mushroom, steamed lobster and bird’s nest with crab coral sauce, and oven-baked cod fillet with egg white and dried scallops. The theme for its interior design is dining in a Chinese garden. Exquisite floral motifs take centre stage on the red glass ceiling and are also hand-painted on the walls.

Staff was friendly and food was excellent. Served by Tera and Mei Ling. The dishes were really exquisite, especially the fried cod and wagyu beef cubes. Would definitely recommend, especially to those yearning Cantonese style dishes wint a hint of fusion. Waitresses were swift to tend to our needs and always friendly and helpful :)

Had a fine dining at Shang Palace, Shangri-La Hotel, and Teresa was serving us. As we were not familiar with the menu, she was patient in explaining to us the varied dishes available and recommended us a few dishes that would suit our palates. Her service was above & beyond.

Had family dim sum lunch today (2May). Tried to order the deep fried boneless duck with taro but the service staff serving our table was not aware of the item, he and I had to go through the menu to locate the item. I think the menu had just been updated, not exactly expecting Shang not familiarizing its staff with the so-called 50th anniversary menu in advance. Dim sum quality is below expectation - a number of the dim dum items were rather saltish. I would suggest getting some training from the its sisters’ hotels in HK to raise the bar ; the boneless duck was also a disappointment. Service was also below expectation, no change of our dirtied plates until we requested. We sat in a private room, it was a chore to signal for service. Better buck up!

With 1 star Michelin I would expect high standard. Food wise rather disappointing especially the expensive abalone is not well cooked as it is chewy.. the Cantonese restaurant typically has high standard of cooking the abalone! The soya pan fried prawn was so good , good balance of saltiness with slightly char outside to make wok hei. The squid perfectly cooked till tenderness with intense seafood taste. The fry glass noodle with preserved Vege and mushrooms added some spiciness is nice. The soup was yummy and the Cantonese style fry glutinous rice with preserved sausages that typically eat during winter season is super yummy! The service is attentive and I would expect the restaurant shall quickly make up on my feedback of the abalone on the same day.

As we had dining credits we came here with my brother and his family. The food was really good but for a restaurant that has a 1 Michelin star is fails to deliver. The Soups we ordered as a start all arrived at different times with one coming 5 minutes after the first was served, this is inexcusable normally let alone for a 1 Michelin Star. We were seated at 19:20 and after having to wait for 30 minutes for dessert finally left at 22:20. My wife had to leave before dessert was served as the babysitter time was up. The food is good and as it was covered by our dining credit I am not as disappointed as if I had to pay for it. Maybe it was on off night.

We came here twice recently - once for dim sum and another for dinner. On both occassions, food quality is gd and when we came for dinner, the restaurant just rolled out their 50th anniversary menu. We had the pigeon and duck broth to try out the new menu and both were done well. Depending on who's serving your table, it can be extremely friendly and at the same time, rather curt for some of the servers. Food can also be a bit slow at times.

Your location Shang Palace 22 Orange Grove Rd, Singapore 258350 Cantonese Gary Sutherland 76 points   an hour ago We dined here on the 28th December, our booking was made on 9th of December. Upon arriving at reception my husband & I were given the once over down to our feet & escorted us to the the worst table in the restaurant (already allocated) my husband seemed to be facing the back office/broom cupboard. He moved his chair, chopsticks & wine glasses to remove himself from this unsightly view. As we wanted to try an array of food, we opted for degustation/set menu with matching wines. The food wasn't great or some not even edible but that wasn't the worst of it. As my husband finished before me on the first 2 dishes, he was given the following dish while I was still finishing the one before, he sat and waited for me as his became cold. The second time I found I had to say something as this was in my experience very bad service. All around the back of us were private dining rooms with doors, so all through all dinner staff ran past us with trays of food, it was like we were in their way and it went on & on & on. Upon the manager coming to speak to us after being told we were more than unimpressed & upset, he listened & was understanding of the situation. He took the drinks of our bill & upgraded our dessert. We appreciate he tried to amend this mess and disappointment, in our experience with fine dining, it isn't! We will not come here again. Singapore does everything so beautifully & gracefully, not here at Shang Palace. This is time wasted on our last night & our anniversary we'll never get back.

Came by for lunch the other day and it was a world class experience. Made a reservation direct via the Shangri-La's website and received an e-mail confirmation. Shang Palace is a Michelin 1 star for 2021. Shang Palace isn't near any MRT stations A taxi or rideshare would be helpful. Shang Palace is located on the right hand side after entering the lobby. Tables were placed pretty far apart and front of the house staff wore vinyl gloves. Masks, uniforms, and name tags were all worn by the staff. Service was available, although perhaps not quite up to Michelin standards. Staff were pretty busy presenting dishes to customers. Started off with the shrimp dumpling and it was world class. The skin was translucent and the shrimp were very fresh and fragrant. Moved on to the BBQ rice noodle roll and it was also stunning. Rice noodles were translucent and the BBQ pork was very fragrant and fatty. The soy sauce was perfect too, super light. Their fried dace balls with the clam sauce was also excellent. Perfectly fried fish balls! The egg tarts were baked to order and tasted best fresh! The highlight dessert was their mango pomelo sago which was excellent. Super fragrant mango with pomelo made this a refreshing end for lunch. ~$63/head after 10% service and 7% GST

Our family of 4 had an enjoyable meal at the Shang Palace, which included Ee Fu braised Truffle noodles, Szechuan chili prawns, Salt & Pepper Chicken & French beans. Portions were smallish but of a good standard. Spacious & Stylish interiors, & impeccable service. Prices were reasonable , & we paid $200 for family of 4

Coming from Shangri-La, from the reception to the floor service is not even near good as I would if I were to be eating from a premium Cantonese restaurant. The ushering of us to our table was so luke warm. Once upon ordering our food, initiative should be expected to serve the sauces and condiments without having to us. The vinegar with ginger was stingy with our xiao long bao order. Staff is not very attentive to our needs, have to put a bit of effort to get their attention. Xiao long bao is a huge disappointing at first bite. Does not taste very good and with very little meat. While the rest of the dim sum we ordered were fine but not out of this world great. The pork trotter has very little meat. Overall, will not go back again.

Second visit, ordered the peony blossom pearl set dinner. The first three dishes were just okay, and the subsequent three dishes including the dessert were above average. The best dish for the evening was the poached sliced abalone with inaniwa noodles. Compared to my favorite place for set dinner, here I paid 30% more and got 30% less in food quality. There is a new head chef running the show now with new menu and prices.

We ordered soup. The soup was savory and not oily. I enjoyed eating the melon inside the soup. The beef we ordered was very tasty too. It was tender and juicy... we were serviced by a great group of people too, including Chai Fong, Terry, Pei Pei, Rebecca and Tammy

Visited Shang Palace with friends for Dimsum. Food were great, well prepared by Chef Mok and his team. We ordered 10 Dimsum and all were so tasty. However, staffs needs to rush us for bill and left restaurant, because we only could have lunch for 1.5hrs even we didn’t finish yet.
