We got a good range of dishes, kang kong with garlic, steamed fish with soya sauce, basil pork, some fried rice, and a few other things. Overall the food is too sweet. Would be cool if the chef cools it with the sugar.

A great option if you are by the area. Everything that we have tried was excellent. We really loved the pandan leaves chicken. Do not expect though, a fancy place. If you want to stay under the AC or pay with a card (only cash) this is not the kind of restaurant that you would like. Finally, the price is... More

The Duck Noodle Soup (S$8) is available in both spicy and non-spicy versions. I didn't like the spicy version as the tart flavour of the vinegary chili sauce overwhelmed the flavour of the spices in the aromatic broth. Opting for the non-spicy version, the tasty broth was generously topped with browned garlic. The silky strands of rice noodles, crunchy bean... More

We ate twice in a two week visit- the first day and the last. We love it. Staff really friendly. Price very reasonable - both food and Tiger. The shell fish especially was good. My colleague loved the chilli beef. Atmosphere was great too and the lady on the till was lovely!! As it's close to the hotels we stay... More

The restaurant itself is quite basoc with fans, no aircon. However dont let that put you off! The tom yum soup and the mango papaya salad rocks. The beef is great as well as the noodles! They have a large menu selection. They also have a lovely lemongrass drink. Regards Omar

Surrounded by quite a few chicken rice restaurants on Purvis St. in Bugis, First Thai is a refreshing change. We went on a weekday night and quickly got seated. The wait staff were very efficient and friendly. We got the Mango Salad, Kang Kong, Pad See Ew, and Deep Fried Fish with Garlic Sauce. Although I usually don't like fried... More

We had Tom Yum, Thai Veg Omelette, Stir fried Kang Kong n Steamed Seabass in lemon sauce. ... Overall ok food ... Tom yum was a little disappointing as flavors were not as I'd expect for an authentic thai restaurant.. The Thai Veg Omelette (Cha Om Omelette ) ...The kapi (shrimp paste) dip was not too tasty for thai standard.... More

well, yes, it is not a full scale restaurant but an eatery serving nice and tasty Thai. no air con. no frill. right taste. it amazes me to see some comments referring to pricey place. i guess they compare to hawker stalls. we were delighted with our experience, mango salad, green Curry, chicken with basil leaves which came with a... From a self-confessed foodie, if you want excellent authentic Thai food, this place is for you. We have been eating at First Thai for over 10 years and have never once been dissatisfied. The pork Pad See Ew is the best I have ever had. The Tom Yam soup, either chicken or seafood, is to die for. There is nothing... More

Gonna be there early if not there you might need to wait for quite a while. Nice thai food @ reasonable pricing.
