Went here for a dinner date with a friend after a tiring day of work and eating here was such a pleasant treat! The ambience was comfortable and aesthetic with all of the Japanese decorations. Ordered the Chef's Selection 5pcs and the Tochigi Wagyu A4...(Ribloin). All of the skewers were beautifully seasoned - the right amount of juiciness and flavour. My friend and I were really impressed with how they were cooked, compared to other places that are either too salty or too much sauce. We also paired the food with the Sweet Sake of the Week, which complimented the smoky flavour of the Kushiyaki. Definitely recommend this place for good kushiyaki! If you want more, this restaurant also offers sushi and dons that we would like to try next time!More

Definitely, a place to visit. I ordered the Spicy Salmon Don and it was topped with creamy and decadent fresh salmon sashimi. It was textured with spring onions, sesame seeds and it was an absolute indulgence. This dish goes really well with the starter sweet...standard sake. When skewers arrived, the first skewers that caught my attention was the beef short ribs skewers with the aroma. Upon eating it, it was tender, soft, and well seasoned. Wonderful spot to unwind after a day of work! Comfy and stylish interior. The staff was very friendly, considerate, and attentive as well. A great place to drink along with amazing specialty dishes. Overall the experience was really great!More

This is a place that one would want to retreat to for a drink after a long day at work. Especially loving their vibrant atmosphere (thanks to it's homebound Japan decor). We ordered a 2 persons experience platter and clearly couldn't resist adding on 2...more dishes (parmesan chips and minced pork cutlet). Recommended food to go along with their quality sakes are their Kushiyakis (charcoal grilled skewers) and their Buta Minced Katsu (homemade minced pork cutlet) - make sure to order this, wouldn't find it elsewhere and they taste amazing. Two of their appetisers that we absolutely enjoy are their fresh Torched Vinegard Mackaerel (Aburi shimesaba) and their Ponzu Beef (Gyu Ponzu) - which was so light but flavourful at the same time. Great quality for the price we paid.More

Ordered the experience platter for 2pax and the yellowtail sashimi. The seafood used were really fresh as the yellowtail sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth, the torched mackerel and sake and butter oysters were very tasty as well. Bar bites like the garlic soy chicken bites and charcoal-grilled...skewers paired nicely with the sweet sake too.More

Shared the 2 person experience platter on a date. The food was flavourful and paired well with the sweet sake of the week. The stand outs of the dining experience are the sake and the sashimi! I was worried that the latter would be too...chewy as the slices looked quite thick, however, the sashimi melts in the mouth. Very fresh and good quality!More

Shared the 2 pax Experience Platter with my sister. It consisted of a sake of the week and 6 dishes. The experience platter took out the stress of having to choose what to eat, as they have a big menu! My favourites from the platter...was the gyu ponzu, butter & sake oysters and tori karage. The gyu ponzu/seared beef fillet was tender and savoury, while the oysters were succulent and the tori karage was crispy even after it sat out for a while as we chatted. The japanese interior decor really made the meal a special experience. In addition, the staff were very attentive and friendly; patiently explaining the menu to us and refilling our water!More

We were spoilt for choice with a wide range of dishes so we went for the Shukuu's Experience for 2 (SGD80). It comes with Agedashi Tofu, Gyu Ponzu (seared beef with ponzu), Aburi Shimesaba (torched mackerel), Kaki no Sakamushi (sake and butter oysters), Tori Karagae...(garlic soy chicken), and assorted charcoal skewers. The set also comes with 180ml of the sake of the week. The gyu ponzu and the agedashi tofu was a favourite amongst my sister and I, while I personally find that the karage and the charcoal skewers pairs perfectly well with the sake. We were fascinated by the retro, almost hip decor that surrounded the restaurant; drawn specifically by the tall wall of sake bottles and boxes of various sizes and designs. I highly recommend coming down to enjoy a couple of drinks and dine on their skewers after a long day of work. However, do consider making a reservation of coming in early as even on a weekday we witnessed the small bar get filled with people by the time it hit 7pm.More

Ordered the iberico pork jowl, the mentiko rosti as well as the hokkaido scallops with mentaiki. Food was great, beer was cheap and affordable as well! A very bustling place, with a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Would be back to try more of their food...next time!More

I ordered the oden and the beef tongue. The oden was extremely value-for-money with a very savory broth. The beef tongue was also flavorful and matched really well with the rock salt that came with it. Worth the trip.

If I’m not mistaken he’s actually a local but perhaps he has received training from a authentic background. But no doubt the food is good!
