A busy place: customers and staff are creating a kind of ballet move in the 3 dining rooms, and it is not unpleasant. The staff is polite and rather efficient, although in some occasions we had to wait too long between the plates. Nice selection...More

Made a reservation via e-mail but the restaurant 'forgot' to confirm it. anyways, we got our seats for our luncheon: Tempura Prawn was a big portion but I did nt like it. in all fairness, maybe it was me. On to the catch of the...More

We were travelling through Singapore on our way to Phuket and stayed one night. We just walked around the area of our hotel to find a quick bite. We came across this wonderful restaurant and it turned out to be amazing food! The bread is...More

Really nice atmosphere, quite relaxed for such good food. Great service, attentive and discreet. But the real strength is the food - it’s special. Mainly French but with a very subtle Asian twist. Nicely presented and high quality ingredients. I will return - hopefully many...More

I am a regular visitor and really can not fault the food and service here - look out for he specials and always make space for one of Shameem’s desserts. Wine list is decently priced.

We were at Bar-a-thyme for a business lunch. We had a reservation and were very well looked after. The ambience at the restaurant was good, its a family owned / run restaurant. The father is the head chef and passionate about what he does. We...More

Beautiful French food with a modern twist. We preferred it to other popular restaurants in Singapore such as Ottomani and Burnt Ends. Wonderful produce and everything we ate was cooked beautifully. We had oysters and the Baccala croquettes for entrees, and the pork and the...More

I'm disappointed to have to write this review after the 5-star review I gave it on our last visit (see the review below). We came back with two colleagues on a Tuesday night, hoping for another incredible experience. The food was still very, very good....More

Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful
sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling
sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its
blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an
Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit
almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony
continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to
the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill.

Bar-A-Thym" is a French restaurant located in Gemmil lane, Club street. In a relaxed but elegant setting, it serves a cuisine from the south of France and more precisely the Roussillon where I come from. The kitchen is an open concept, the chef cook right in front of the guest on a big plancha (flat grill) seasonal fresh products. This direct interaction with patrons enable the chef to sell his specials and to be an entertainer (therefore the name of the restaurant).
