Nice ambiance, attentive wait staff. Ordered the January promotion set with prime rib 150 GM. We paid $22 to up grade my husband's meat by 70 GM. Rib was tender and flavourful. The salad was just OK. The dinner rolls came in two types, one nuttier dark bread was fine, the mini panini was hard. Wish we were given more of the mashed potatoes which were nice. I asked they remove the fat from the ribs, and they did. The desert presentation was nice. Overall, it was pricey, but considering it was a special celebration and mainly we came for the prime rib, we woould return. But suggest offer fresher bread, and give slightly bigger serving of side orders. I would like to return next time and try the bigger cut of prime rib, the birthday offer is 40% discount for 2nd person, ordering the lessor cost meal. We like ours done medium done. Excellent for quiet romantic date night, special celebration, or if want to treat your client. Make sure reserve table.

I wanted to share with you guys about the beautiful dining experience at Lawry's The Prime Rib last week. The restaurant is situated at Mandarin Gallery near to the Somerset MRT; it is accessible to me because I do not drive, is about 10-minute walking distance from the Somerset MRT.
According to my friend who is a fussy eater, the restaurant is famous for fine dining and value for money. Hence, I made a reservation for bringing my family to give it a try.
When we stepped our foot into the restaurant, we were welcomed by the friendly personnel. And we were lucky as we were attended by the operation manager, Imran and his friendly teammates who were Tuti and Purni. You might be wondering how come I could remember the individual names, and I would like to say this is because their services were excellent.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant, we, therefore, asked Imran to recommend us the popular dishes of the restaurant. Imran patiently introduced the dishes one by one. It was surprisingly that the dishes were served within 15 mins. All the cuisines were fresh and refreshing, we enjoyed the food so much.
We want to say the service was excellent. You could see the smiling faces on the servers’ faces; the team was full of warmth and thoughtful of the guests. Purni also initiated to help us to take the family pictures during dinner. Imran was always around ready to hear all types of experiences from us.
To conclude, Lawry's The Prime Rib is one of the best fine dining hotspots at Orchard. The excellent service and pleasant ambience are suitable for dinner with your loved ones or family gathering.

Wow wow. Where do I start. Firstly, because of the Amex platinum card promo, I get a 50% off 2 ala carte mains ordered whenever I dine with someone else. So after the 50% off it’s pretty affordable for such great quality steaks.
Secondly, I LOVEEEEE their lawry’s prime rib, cooked medium rare drench in that gravyyyy. Perhaps it’s just me but I feel the meat here is so much better than those aged wagyu with loadsa fat.
And lastly, they serve a decent bowl of salad. I’m never a salad lover but would lick the salad plate clean whenever I dine at lawrys.
Not to forget - their service is impeccable. I was lunching at lawrys during my birthday month but I didn’t indicate anywhere in my reservation it was my birthday but the staff sprung me a surprise with a mini cake and of course a birthday song. Was a little taken by surprise but definitely a sweet gesture nonetheless.

Celebration of hubby birthday. We ordered the Feb 4 course dinner.
Pro : The show of how the salad is mixed and served is interesting. Also, when the prime rib is being prepared and cut in the big oven in front of you is very different. Slice of cake is served with the birthday song being sang be the staff is fun.
Cons : The prime rib served to me is not a single piece cut, instead 2 pcs, looks like the portion left over from the previous cut. I ordered medium, is very rare however, made me lost a bit of my appetite and could not finish. It will be more worth it to order from the ala carte menu which is bigger portion, and with the Amex/Citibank credit card discount, it probably is more worth the value.
Overall ambiance is nice and to have the one experience. But with the price tag, I will probably go and try other restaurant with better value.

Service: I was greeted at the entrance, then i was led to my table and given a menu. I saw the citibank 40% promotion so i asked the reception or staff whom led me to my table on the promotion. Before i can ask more she instantly refer me to the server, and turn away. I have been to top notch hotels like the Sun moon lake hotel in Taiwan where the staff actually kneel beside you to explain the forms to you. And Japanese Michelin restaurants. I never like arrogant service staff
The only exception is the uncle whom always come to top our water with a smile and is very professional to ensure we are comfortable
Start: One bun with butter serving, not tasty. The bun on SIA economic flight taste better
Salad wise, you have ice cold fork, ice bowl, but vegetables are yellowish. With some thousand island dressing, and i can hardly see any eggs inside. Taste wise really bad, the sauce is like the one you buy from NTUC in bottle one. At a posh restaurant you should at least serve some fresher greens and self made sauce. Not just lettuce, and beet root slices
Food: We had the $69++ power lunch set with the USDA beef. Taste wise it's pretty good, the beef which has similar texture to beef stew. But the fat is heavenly, which melts in their mouth like otoro or tuna belly. Highly recommended
Side dishes are okay
Cake wise, the server just dropped the slice of cake on my table and left, no one tell me what cake is served. I assume it's lychee cake with strawberry puree.
It's dry and just sweet with some sour puree hoping to balance the taste. It's not tasty
Environment wise it's like the old British colony coffee house, which can use some better furnishing. Window view is pleasant.
In general, value for the $69 is poor, thou beef fat is really good, the rest i had are below average. The 3 stars is for the beef fat and the nice uncle whom tops up my water for his service

Visited on 20th Feb 2021, lunch. Staffs were friendly, and service was impeccable. However, the food was average at best, and pricey, extremely pricey.
1. Had their signature, California Cut. The steak was slow-roast and served with sauce. I did enjoy this, although I wouldn't say it was out of the world. Probably won't be craving it anytime soon. The salad was prepared in a fancy manner, but nothing special in terms of taste. Mash was ok. Yorkshire pudding was pretty decent.
2. Ordered the Ribeye, which came on a hot plate that wasn't sizzling. Lacked the charred taste of the grill. Had better steaks at a fraction of the price.
I do have to caution dinners of the "additional vegetables" that may be offered. When I was served my California Cut, I was asked if I needed any additional vegetables to go with it, creamed spinach or corn. I had the impression that it was a complimentary side and opted for the spinach. Little did I know, that was an extra order that costed me $13++. $13++ for a small bowl of spinach... Also, the beverages are extremely pricey here, to the point that it felt dishonest. Case in point: why would someone price a can of coke at $8++?
Overall:
Service 5/5
Food 3/5
Atmosphere 4/5 (the first table we were seated at had a stained table cloth)
Price 1/5 (2/5 with the credit card promotions)

Five of us each ordered a prime rib lunch at the recommendation of the waiter. We also ordered the wagyu flat iron steak and two starters to share.
We like the prime rib but we should have all ordered the Singapore Cut as the English/California Cuts were too big for us since we ordered other food to share. Most of us like the salad which came with the prime rib lunch but not all like the yorkshire pudding and horse radish whipcream.
The wagyu flat iron steak was a big let down. It was bloody (we ordered medium rare) but did not have the melt in your mouth texture. In fact, it was tough and hard to chew. Luckily, we divided it into five pieces so every one only need to take care of a small strip.
The lobster tails were good but the jumbo shrimps so-so.
We also like the bread (soft and warm) served before the meals.
The waitresses were friendly and helpful but not knowledgeable.
1) We were seated and were asked to change to another table after we were served water. Reason given was that the table was reserved. Don't the staff coordinate before seating the guests? For clarify, we did make reservation just not a specific table.
2) We asked about the birthday package and was informed that the birthday package comprised a complimentary cake and an instant photo print. I just checked Lawry's website and saw that a third main course would have been free with two main course orders. We were not informed by the waitress about this. As a result, we didn't get to enjoy that free third course as we were not aware hence didn't inform the restaurant about my sister's birthday.
3) After dinner, we enquired about coffee and tea, and ordered coffee and tea from the list rattled off by the waitress. Thereafter, we asked for the dessert menu and noticed that there were other varieties of coffee and tea in the menu. The saving grace was, we asked a waitress to change some drink orders (from normal latte to vanilla latte and macchiato to mocha) and she did run to change the orders.
4) We had to point out that the bill forgot to include two drink orders when checking the bill. They could have short-billed us a shot of vanilla but the other two who drank the latte weren't sure that their latte had vanilla whereas I was pretty sure my latte was changed to a vanilla latte.

Let me just say, the restaurant was absolutely aesthetic, the window side seats were accompanied with great views of the numerous shopping centers and roads. Great especially when raining.
I do not really indulge myself into expensive fine-dinning in general however I wanted it to be special as I brought my fiancée to celebrate Christmas. I would like to say that it was my first time trying medium-rare beef and it was astonishing, though it was slightly pricey but it is a fine dinning and the taste did match the value. Small toys were cute as well.
we order some mocktails and the lobster they good, the servers were amazing as it was our first time and we did not know what to order therefore we required them to guide us through the menu.
Good experience would come on another festive day.

The prices are not for every day meals. Expensive glass bottle of mineral water at $8 for example. Haha!!!
Having said that, we happened to enjoy a card promotion when we were already seated so really worth it. So we didn’t let the water get in our way. Lol
The California cut from the meat trolley was fresh and was good enough to share and really soft and tender. Black pepper sauce was slightly over salted though.
The performance spinning salad bowl was tasty with the mushroom soup and wholegrain bread.
Staff Mary, Rose and Rathieka, were attentive and receptive kept asking us how was the meal and everything OK. Manager came over to talk to us too and even cleared our plates!
Trio lobster tail was so cutely presented and was so amazingly tasty as well with the mayo and melted butter.
The usual birthday cake and song was a joy to receive as well. Such a delight and experience!
My second bday celebration dinner at Lawry’s and I would go back again definitely!

I had meals at Lawry’s four times in the past two years and had good experiences. But I was totally disappointed by the quality of food (their signature dish), especially its prime rib of beef and the inconsistent services rendered in the evening. It was an unpleasant experience from the beginning to the end.
*. I reserved a table for 3 people four days before the dinner. When we turned up for dinner at the scheduled time, 7.30 p.m., the table was not ready. The manager, along with two staff, hurriedly made available a table that is meant for 2 people, for the three of us. It was quite uncomfortable having to move our glasses and small plates around throughout our meal, to make room for the food served during the evening. Having asked the waitress to take away some glasses and two small items on the table once, they did not make any attempt to clear plates on my table even though they passed by our table frequently. We had to ask for services all the time.
*. Lawry’s signature dish, prime rib of beef, was unusually tough. My guest had a Lawry’s cut and I had an English cut - we could not finish them as they were tough and lacked the taste and fragrant of a good roasted beef. Even with the gravy, they were almost tasteless.
*. I ordered a lobster bisque. It was sweet! There seemed to have no cognac in it.
*. Finally I found it frustrating having to ask for services during the evening even though there were four staff, including a captain (a lady), two waitresses and a man trainee waiter were serving the few tables in our area. The staff and manager were always friendly, however (but not efficient and experienced service providers)

Went for Christmas lunch. 3 course set menu that we were looking forward to. The oyster was not fresh at all and had been sitting for awhile; the salad looked and tasted like it had been prepared 2 hours earlier and put in the fridge before serving. The lobster and fish came out stone-cold, so sent it back and we all had prime rib. The prime rib was tasty to be fair. Service was really slow. Overall, for such an expensive lunch (total $539 for 4 people with NO alcohol) it was a really bad value. We would have been much happier if we'd gone to a cheaper place with decent food. If you go to Lawry's (it is now off my list) I would recommend ala carte only, but your bill will add up once you add the $18 sides.

My wife and I opted for Lawry's The Prime Rib for her birthday celebration this year and we totally enjoyed our dining experience from the moment we were ushered in to our reserved seats. The waiters/waitresses crew's eye for details made for a most pleasant visit. The chef laid out the Lawry's cut to perfection for our request for both medium and medium well. The spinning salad is something to look out for, and we had a gorgeous plate of oysters for our starters. At the end of our visit we were presented a complimentary birthday cake, and the thoughtful staff offered to photogpraph the occasion for us. Not only that, we were pleasantly surprised that Lawry's had given us a 50% discount on one of our two main meals for the birthday. The service and relaxed atmosphere was so wonderful, we couldn't have asked for more! Thank you!

Took a good friend and his family out for what I'd hoped would be a great dinner.. The Prime Rib was waaay overcooked, tasteless and tough. All other dishes were fine, with the french fries being the highlight. The Lawry's in Tokyo years ago was excellent but this visit was a big disappointment and would NOT recommend it to anyone if they wanted Prime Rib... Especially pathetic as it's their signature dish.. Go to Morton's or anywhere else. Also screaming children literally running around totally unsupervised wasn't helpful to the ambiance.

The meat was very tasty and tender and you could choose your portion size which was great. The mash tasted great but there wasn't enough. The most dissapointing thing was the Yorkshire pudding cooked in a small skillet but as there were three of us you only got a third of it - surely one each! Overall the experince was dissapointing and the food overpriced.

Amazing food, pleasant staff, warm ambience. Served by Princess, Joshi and Anna. They were friendly, helpful and attentive to my family’s needs. If there was one person to represent Laury’s brand, it’d be none other than Shiva, our host. He embodied the epitome of quality service through his genuine and warm disposition. His professionalism in the industry shone through the moment he greeted my family. Even though there were some delays in the preparation of our table due to covid safety measures, Shiva invited us in for drinks at the standing bar and apologised for the delay. He was courteous, and exhibited great passion for his job. Throughout the meal, he often checked on the quality and standard of the food with us. Alongside Shiva - Princess, Joshi and Anna were all very meticulous in taking care of our basic needs such as changing our cutlery and making sure our glasses were filled. The highlight of our dinner would be the birthday surprise that they had done up for my sister. They sang a beautiful birthday song and served the birthday girl a delightful slice of cake. Not in any point in time did my family and I felt pressured and judged by watchful eyes and snobbish vibes from the staff like we experienced in some other restaurants. Wonderful people here. Needless to say, the food was beyond amazing. If you’re here for the first time, just go for the Laury’s cut. Albeit being a little on the pricey end, forking out the extra dough is definitely worth the experience and shall be one you’d never forget. 10/10 rating.
