Came here on the 24th Feb for a farewell dinner. Great ambience and awesome food, my favourite dishes were the Peking duck wraps and boiled soup 👍 Great customer services from Shirlene and her team too, they promptly came into our private room to change our plates, refill our drinks ensuring we are well taken care of. Highly recommended restaurant and I will definitely dine here again soon!

Enjoyed my dinner at Golden Peony! :)
Shirlene, Vanessa and Irene was very warm and welcoming. My favorite dish was the fish noodles with king prawn. Once they knew that I was left handed, they immediately switched the placing of the cutleries. These little details make the dinner more special. :)

Amazing presentation, superb service staff with a genuine interest in the customer, food acceptance and Singaporean experience. A set menu developed to suit allergies was provided as part of a Luxury Escapes package. The manager Daniel was exceptional with his interest in the tea provided, the service provided and shared his experience of the evolving Singapore and points of interest. The service was timely however not rushed. The flavours, plate appeal and authentic Singaporean cuisine has ensured we will return next time. Well done!

I tried their CNY tasting menu because I had a credit from staying at the Conrad where it's located. The ambiance of the location was nice, but everything else was average at best. The staff was neither warm nor cold. Service felt like the staff was just going through the motions. The food, given the price, was not particularly memorable. It felt very much like the ingredients were doing the lion's share of the work and the actual cooking (sauces, etc . . .) may have actually detracted from the dishes. There was also a discount issue that had to be resolved by the Conrad front desk. You can get much better quality fine dining in Singapore for significantly less.

Was here for the restaurant week menu and added on some ala carte dim sum today, and it was a fantastic experience, till the moment we were asked to pay.
Let’s start from the entrance where we were welcomed warmly by a lady name Hui Shan, she was pleasant, attentive and took care whenever she was serving us or even passing by our table. And you could tell it’s not just at our table, but every table. She saw a toddler on a chair, and immediately went over to asked if she can get them a high chair (despite the mum of the toddler telling another lady wearing cheong sam that they neede a high chair earlier). While the other older lady and gentleman (also wearing suits) were busy chatting with one another while guests were entering the restaurant, Hui Shan stopped what she was doing at the side table and stepped into the line of sight of the guests and greeted them even before they were seated. These were just 2 of the many little things she was doing, and it made the whole experience great.
What marred the service experience was another younger lady in suit who brought us the bill at the end without us signalling for it and we had barely finished our dessert, much less the tea. It wasn’t that she brought over the bill early, but what she said to my partner while he was drinking his tea, ‘Would you like to settle the bill at your convenience, we have another seating.’ It gave us the feeling that you are chasing us out while we counted another 5 empty tables around the room. What could be done better could be as she was pouring the tea to just ask politely ‘Would you like me to bring you the bill?’ And we would have gotten the hint. :/
Even the yummy dishes we had and the attentive service from Hui Shan cannot overcome the sour end to what could be a fantastic meal. Even when Hui Shan was busy with plates in her hands trying to serve another table and she turned and thank us for coming was just not good enough because of 1 staff.
I will return, but I probably will try to avoid that lady at all costs, or maybe just tell her to not tell me they have another seating and rush me to be billed. Especially when in the first place it was not stated anywhere that there was a time restriction to dine in. It just made the whole experience feels transactional rather than hospitality.

Shirlene and her team is always so dedicated to guests, despite trying times like these.
Even though the menu is smaller, she is so flexible and accommodating in her food offerings to us.
Esther and Jean were very attentive but yet not intrusive. Made us feel like a million bucks.

Consistently refined cuisine and excellent presentation have made Golden Peony our regular Sunday lunch escapade.
Staff remember us from previous visits and are attentive without being obtrusive. they even recall our favourite tea! It’s like dining in our very own home kitchen.
For today’s meal, Shirlene, the restaurant manager, proactively suggested payment via a particular credit card, so that we would benefit from the current best discount. Beat that!
Go ahead a treat yourself at Golden Peony. You’d be hard put to find fault even if you tried!

Exquisite and comfortable place with exquisite dim sum. We liked the ambience and atmosphere on a moderate weekday lunch, left it to the restaurant manager to take care of our party of four. A mixed set of Omakase appetisers, soup and signature dim sum were served and we felt it was perfect. Service was attentive, dishes served in adequate sequence that allows conversation. In fact some last courtesy pieces left over between conversation were reheated for us. We were offered free desserts and Chinese tea to take away. A few must try include Baked Chilli Crab Pastry Bun, Caviar Siew Mai, Truffles Char Siew Bun and the heavenly Fish Maw Soup.

Came here for my dad’s birthday lunch, ordered the set menu and added on the Peking duck. It was a pretty normal experience the whole time till the second half of the meal.
What ruined the whole experience was towards the end, when one lady in suit approached our table and put the longevity buns on the table and asked “Whose birthday?” when I’ve clearly indicated in the reservation that it’s for my dad’s birthday celebration and to be asked like that doesn’t reflect the impeccable service I’ve read in the other reviews. To add on, I would have thought it is basic courtesy to wish someone happy birthday but no. The buns was placed beside my dad and the lady left without saying anything else.
On top of that, a tower of longevity buns was prepared for the other tables seated around us, and it is double standard, considering how several was crowding around to wish the diners there.
Bill was presented without us signaling for it and dessert wasn’t even served yet at this point. It gave us the feeling that you are chasing us out even though the restaurant was only 20% occupied. Furthermore, there wasn’t any indication that there’s a time limit and the lady was kind of sarcastic about it when we enquired about the rushing of food and she casually replied we were the ones who ordered late, when there were other diners who arrived and ordered later than us.
The whole dining experience felt extremely transactional.
Overall, the saving grace for this restaurant was the dishes, presentation was good, food was not too bad.
Perhaps my expectations were too high, but a reputable restaurant would definitely be more mindful of how they treat their guests.

Every once in a long while, there comes a restaurant that makes us want to go back again and again. Golden Peony is one of them. Not only is the food excellent, but the service is impeccable. It is this bespoke feeling the staff at the restaurant gives us that makes us go back to them every week. I am amazed by the little things they remember of our preferences and these fine touches make every visit feels like we are dining amongst friends, and very much at home. The team led by Shirlene, supported by Stanley, Vanes, Esther and Eve, always makes us feel at home. And of course, the food: must try their sweet & sour pork and the braised fish claypot —- simple dishes done to perfection.
Go back more often and you will be pleasantly surprised by how much they care about what is important to you when you dine there.

We will definately be sitting with you again.
Thanks chef Kevin Chow for the recommended menu, our guest and ourself was impressed by the food. He went through detail communication with us to understand our preferences on serving our guest and recommended the most suitable menu to us. Good taste and nice plating. It's a superb experience to have dinner in Golden Phoney Restaurant.
Not to forget our serving staff, Ms Shirlene Chan and Hui Shan. When they greeted us all with a friendly smile, the service he provided was first class. Even during the evenings when the restaurant got busy, they have showed total dedication and commitment to their duties and treated everyone to the same high standard of service.

Our server is Eve and she is attentive, well-spoken and extremely hospitable.
Food is perfect. Taste is very well-balanced, everything is perfectly cooked, well seasoned. I cannot further stress this. Their soup and beef with noodle is highly recommended. I have no idea how they cooked their beef but it is so so so soft and melt into mouth. I was stuffed but still made it a point to finish everything.
Everything is so well plated, colourful and just a pleasant sight. I love the koi dessert which is made of soy curd and it is not too sweet with peach gum/resin texture which was perfect and it is absolutely delightful.

Fifth visit, ordered the rediscovery set menu and topped up SGD 10 for the baked kurobuta pork. The rock prawns were really good, second time picking this dish, the freshness of the prawns quite shiok. For a change, this time picked the lobster fragrant poached rice and it was really good. Although the jade perch was not that fresh, still very satisfied, almost a perfect dinner.
If you are a big eater like me, just top up SGD10 for another extra dish, definitely worth it.
Pretty consistent food quality after eating a few times there. As usual excellent service from Eve and her team members.

If you are looking for really good Chinese food, this is the place, I come here regularly. When I order Tim sum, they are freshly made and ingredients are fresh. They have many set menu, but my favourite set is the Ruby set menu which changes over time. I love the lobster (mee pok ) noddles . The presentation of the food is a treat, making it more appetising. It is an excellent for business meals . Always happy to be back.
