Having lived in Singapore for 20 years I can tell you this is the real deal. Get the burnt ends! Sides are also excellent!

Great service, great food, they are able to provide gluten free options. Ate twice, no issues at all, 3 of us are coeliac.
Outstanding service, outstanding food, generous portions, staff made us feel very welcome, no complaints, absolutely delicious
Absolutely delicious meat! We had brisket, pulled pork, pork belly and fried chicken: definitely recommend the first three. Side dishes are big, we really enjoyed fries and coleslaw salad.
Thanks for stopping by Robertson Quay and glad you enjoyed the authentic American BBQ!
The people giving good reviews can't possibly be Americans. At least not Southerners. Yankees don't know barbecue, so maybe this place impressed some. I am a Southerner. I smoke ribs all the time. I know barbecue. This place promotes an impression of popularity. They say...they will give away your table if you're over 10 minutes late. They warn that you can only stay 90 minutes. When I was there, most of the seats were empty. Then they left us alone after we were clearly finished. I think they wanted us to stay and make the place look successful. We had the two-person "feast." Three meats and three sides. The sides were small. Two people should get two portions, not one The baked beans were on the watery side. They didn't taste much like baked beans. They looked like baked beans, but that familiar barbecue bean taste was absent. The cornbread was just plain weird. Looked like cornbread; tasted like something else. Bland. Had little specks of green stuff in it. The macaroni and cheese had a thin and gritty sauce, and there was not much cheese flavor. It was as though the cook had copied a photo intead of using a recipe. The ribs were watery, as though they had been braised. They tasted like Montreal steak seasoning, which is the wrong profile for ribs. They were also lukewarm, which is completely wrong. All the meat was lukewarm. Everything should have been hot. The ribs had a smoke ring, and they were tender, but they just didn't taste like barbecued ribs. The brisket and pulled pork were somewhat similar to the real thing. They tasted the way you would expect brisket and pulled pork to taste if a school cafeteria decided to have a barbecue day. I don't think any Americans are involved with this place. If there are any, they must be from New York. We didn't finish our food, and we were hungry. Decker is very expensive. We wasted $120. Back home, we could have had magnificent barbecue at a chain restaurant for 40 USD. I suggest the owners get a barbecue cookbook from a reliable author and learn how to cook. Barbecue is simple, and if they did it right, Decker would be packed every day. Also, it wouldn't hurt to clean the restroom. If you don't clean the toilets, which customers can see, you must be doing terrible things in the kitchen.More
Thanks Chip for providing more detailed feedback this time around compared to your previous Google review. And thanks for editing your "like a Chinese chef looked at a picture of BBQ" comment that was of poor taste/racist since you assumed as an American expat that...More
Some of the best BBQ I've had. Saying this from the perspective of someone who is a BBQ addict and has worked in the heart of BBQ in the US (Florida, North Caralina, and Texas). It isn't just the meat, the sides (had the Mac,...Guac, Slaw), and the deserts are top. Best meats IMO: brisket, chopped brisket, pulled pork, pork belly. Ate here 5 times in a month's stay in Singapore, consistantly good, and when they had been out of tables, we still managed to get a seat at the bar.More
Thanks for the great feedback and being such a fantastic customer over your month's stay in Singapore. Next time you're in town, make sure to come back down to Robertson Quay for BBQ!
For our family of 8, we had the Family Feast platter for 4, which included chips, guacamole, salsa, wagyu brisket, pulled pork, spare ribs, smoked chicken. Comes with 4 sides which we had coleslaw, macaroni cheese, kale salad, brisket baked beans. Also comes with 2...desserts which we took apple cobbler and banana pudding. We added starters like buffalo wings (quite spicy for young children), deep fried cauliflower florets and Decker rice bowl. The pulled pork and spare ribs were juicy and tasty but the other meats were a bit dry and not very tender. Reasonably priced beer and good selections. Total cost: S$370More
Thanks for stopping in and sharing your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the BBQ but sorry that a few of the meats were not as tender or juicy as you expected. They should be, so we will relay this info back to our kitchen team...More
Always go for a sharing platter! It’s really worth it for their great food. Was so impressed how they served it quickly. Love the open concept for beers that you can actually just collect from their fridge. Also, a good choice of music which added...to the nice atmosphere of the restaurant. Thanks to all the friendly staff! You guys rock! Highly recommended casual place to dine-in at Robertson Quay. Will definitely come back :)More
Thanks Leah! We look forward to having you back in soon and thanks for all of the great feedback.
Food was great, good beer selection and the place is cozy. Just a shame that the staff completely fails on Southern Hospitality. Less than 45 minutes at the place, beer still 3/4 full, I was asked to pay up and 5 minutes later told they...needed the table - that’s just plain rude. I was offered a seat at the bar, but sorry, I wasn’t even there for 1 hour and nobody told me they needed the table in 45 when I came. You can have hiccups in the kitchen and with service, but being rude to customers is a no go for me. Won’t be back.More
Roger, sorry for your poor experience at Decker a few nights ago. Obviously your experience was unacceptable. There was a miscommunication amongst the team, so that they thought you had been told the time we needed the table back. So when the time limit expired,...More
It's a real pity that this place that serves up pretty decent Q is lacking tremendously in the customer service department. We dig casual and down-to-earth places but when the waiters display insolence, dismissive tones and when you feel like you're obviously a sideshow in...their preoccupation in socialising amongst themselves, you know that if you ever come back, it's simply for the food which hopefully stays consistently good. The ambiance doesn't save the day either. Wooden tables on a sidewalk, practical but charmless. On a lazy saturday, our table for 6 was sticky and as mentioned, waiters seemed happy to roam around the restaurant back and forth, chatting animatedly away but when you did grab their attention for anything, you got bored expressions and zombie postures. As said, a real pity. Spruce up the seating area and throw in some sunny dispositions.... it would do wonders to this restaurant's offerings. We wont know if it'll ever be done cos it's our first and last time here. However, if we ever hanker for their lovely brisket, we'll arrange for a home delivery.... and we hope that it'll be as good as we remembered it to be.More
Sorry that you had a bad experience with our hospitality (or lack there of). Obviously, we take our service seriously and want to create a fun, warm environment like you would have a traditional American BBQ joint. Clearly, we fell short on your visit. We...More
The food was unreal. Best bbq food since being in Singapore and a good portion. Shame about the service. We had to wait 20 mins for our table that we booked in advance and our table we were sitting on was near the toilet, far...from ideal.More
Daisy, We are thrilled that you loved the BBQ, but sorry that you were upset with the service. The aim is to get every booking sat on time every night, but with a fully booked restaurant, there can sometimes be delays. We try to still...More
... and the Sides are good, too! Friendly staff and fast to the table makes dining a breeze. The signature dish remains the pork ribs. One caution: if you book the second session, a few mains might have run out
The pork ribs are delicious! And we do run out of meat every night, since we can only smoke so much BBQ each day and we can't reuse it the next day. Only freshly smoked stuff each day at Decker!
Tasty barbeque meat at reasonsable price. Location was not easy to find though. It is at the back behind Ten Sushi and Bar.
Thanks for stopping in and enjoying our legit American BBQ! We are a bit hidden since we are behind Boomerang, but we like to fly a little under the radar.
Ordered on deliveroo the ribs, pulled pork and sausage meals. Very nice barbecued food. Was still hot on delivery. Will definitely buy again:)
You keep on ordering our delicious, legit American BBQ, we will keep on smoking! Thanks for the great feedback and glad you enjoyed your BBQ meals!
Came here a few years back and it was great , and it still is. Just before Covid regulations tightened again here in Singapore I went out with my Girl and brother for dinner. It was packed. The staff said we would have to wait...a bit , but offered us a beer on the house while we waited. Brilliant idea! Got our table , quick staff took our orders and off we went.Brought a bottle of bubbly and that was quickly popped on ice for us to enjoy. Small corkage fee. No dramas! Food was great as usual , fantastic meats and sides , crisp craft ales , happy times. Jose and his staff were awesome , so thanks Guys and Gals!More
Thanks for coming in Josh! Glad you enjoyed the energy and hospitality of Decker. We appreciate all of the support and great feedback.
