About
Sen of Japan is a modern Japanese restaurant and bar, serving up a mouthwatering medley of traditional Japanese cuisine from donburi, sashimi, wagyu steaks and much more with contemporary flavours and techniques, crafted with the finest ingredients. The meaning of ‘Sen’ in Japanese is fresh, we believe true quality is defined by the source of the ingredients – ‘to be fresh’. The menu includes dishes designed by Nakano Hiromi, former head chef of NOBU at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The cosy dining space is accompanied by a spectacular view of the Marina Bay waterfront. Make a reservation today to experience our unique food and atmosphere.

We booked this restaurant to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday. The food was amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. Even the fussy 17 year old loved the food and to top it off, we were surprised with a slice of birthday cheesecake complete with candle....It was a lovely gesture and very delicious! A great dinner and memory for us all. Our many thanks to the team at Sen.More

Enjoyed our celebration and date night! Chose Sen of Japan to celebrate our special day. Thankful to Ivy who gave us exceptional service and intuitive knowledge about sake. Loved that she gave meaningful suggestions on what to order and it solved our dilemmas! Food is...so good! We love the black cod and mini wagyu bowl was just enough to have us leaving stuffed! Very satisfying meal. Will be back to try more! 😉More

This is one of my favourite places to bring my friends for a casual catch up. Very good food at decent prices for the portions. Aburi don & mini wagyu don was fresh and tender. We absolutely loved it. Service is always top notch and...I like it when they make an effort to remember regulars despite it being a casual dining spot. I was there for a birthday dinner with my childhood friend and they served us a mini birthday cake even though I forgot about it after I reserved. It’s service like that from Feng & Redi which makes me want to go back again and again. Bringing all my friends and family for an enjoyable meal with personable serviceMore

To celebrate some good news, I decided to give myself a (well-deserved) treat. I had the house special of Negitoro Uni Nori Roll, comprising chutoro (medium fatty tuna), uni (sea urchin) and ikura (plump, orange salmon roe) on rice with a seaweed wrap. I just...wanted to try something new; it was quite good, but at SGD32/USD24/£19/€22/AUD37 a pop, I think it was rather expensive for what it was. The Ikura Chawanmushi was yummy and so pretty, topped with ikura; I didn’t really detect the truffle oil in it though. I liked the generous slices of hamachi/yellow tail sashimi and salmon belly sashimi. The yuzu umeshu was nice too. Now, we love Sen of Japan because they serve thick cuts of fresh sashimi. However, this time, I should have borne this in mind when I ordered the mekajiki/swordfish sashimi, because since it came in thick slices, it was hard to chew on and swallow, given its firmer texture. I don’t know…for the first time in my life, it felt like I was eating a whole fish raw. Yuk. On the other hand, the thick cuts of hamachi/yellow tail sashimi and salmon belly were delightful because of their more delicate texture. Overall, it was a good celebratory meal but I’ll be skipping the mekajiki/swordfish sashimi in future!More

My husband and I decided to dine there on a weekday around eight in the evening without a prior reservation. Luckily, a table was available for us. Our order consisted of rolls, soft-shell crab tempura, and black Atlantic cod. The rolls and tempura arrived surprisingly...swiftly, within 3-5 minutes of placing our order - an impressive speed. The rolls were delectable, with a generous amount of filling and a perfect rice-to-filling ratio. The tempura was tasty and crispy, served in a big portion 6 pieces. As for the black Atlantic cod, it was a standout dish - tender, succulent, with a hint of sweetness, executed flawlessly. Our overall experience at this restaurant was delightful. The quick and efficient service contributed to our satisfaction with the visit. Food 5 Service 4 Atmosphere 5More
