This was my first time at Sen of Japan at Marina Bay Sands. I have read many reviews and ran past it numerous times.
The Sashimi Salad was good. The sashimi and greens werevery fresh and the garlic olive oil dressing was very refreshing. Comes with slices of crispy lotus roots too.
Their signature Oishii Maki had a wonderful combination of chopped blue fun tuna belly, ikura, uni, negi.
In addition, their Tempura Moriawase was crispy and fresh but not the best that i have tasted (especially at this price) 😅
The Black Cod Soy was cooked just nice. While the skin was crispy and grilled to perfection, the cod meat was soft and slides off nicely.
Helmed by local chefs and service crew, the food was overall good and the staff were very helpful and patient, not pushy at all. I was fortunate to get a seat as I came off peak hours, in the late afternoon.
If you want a better deal, come on weekdays for their lunch set but you better book in advance.

Sen of Japan like most of the restaurants here at MBS are on the pricey side.. the chirashi premium we had was priced at $89, while some of the other smaller mains averaged around $30-$40. The chirashi and rolls we had were quite fresh though, and the staff were quite friendly and provided prompt service. The decor is quite functional and sparse though, but you can see the marina bay from the restaurant.

Service:
Have been here countless times and would say that the quality of the food and service has been very consistent. The staff was very friendly despite busy hours and even take the initiative to get to know the customers personally. I recall dining with my sister at the bar counter where the Chef has made the extra effort in engaging us, sharing interesting insights about Japanese food and culture.
Food:
Some may be of the opinion that the food is on the pricier end. However, in comparison to the high quality and variety offered in Sen of Japan, one would regard this as Value for Money. The portions may not look as big in the photos, but they sure are enough to make me get a food coma.
Atmosphere:
Great place for family dinner, dinner with friends, and even dates! Perfect place for a cozy meal with high-quality and authentic Japanese food.
Overall:
One reason my family and I re-visits this restaurant so often is because of the consistency in high-quality food and services, where the worry of quality food is taken away. Go give it a try, you won't regret it!

Good location by the bay. They have a complete menu of sashimi, sushi, tempura and other dishes. Quite expensive , maybe expected due to location. The sashimi platter with 14 pcs is $100

Creative japanese cuisine with a taste of sea freshness. It was our first trip to Sen and we asked for recommendations.
The Maguro Pizza did not disappoint. Glistening slivers of Maguro topped with gold flakes were served on thin crispy biscuit. We were impressed with the resident chef’s ingenuity. The next dish to come was the sashimi platter.
We loved the fatty ootoro which just melted in our mouth. The buttery texture of the uni tasted so rich and creamy, it was amazing. Another dish that impressed was the Anago/ eel tempura. The soft eel meat wrapped in light tempura batter tasted perfect and every mouthful was delightful. Colour, the friendly staff who was knowledgeable and attentive also recommended the mekajiki steak. The pan seared swordfish came served on a bed of asparagus. Sinking your teeth into the crispy golden crusted steak and feel the savoury juice ooze out as the chunks of meat separate was such a treat.
Check out their range of exciting desserts too, all made in house. The pumpkin ice cream we had was delectable.

Came here with my family, ordered a wagyu don medium rare, was served meat cooked on outside, very raw on inside. For the Wagyu don as well as the wagyu tataki, there was a lot of fats and little meat. The sushi here is fantastic though, enjoyed that the most.

Friendly and attentive services makes me feel like I am dining at home! Walking in to Sen of Japan at MBS Level 1 with my colleague, we received a very warm welcome from a young lady with smiley ‘eyes’ - staff Ivy. She came forward to introduce to us the seasonal items and various ongoing promotions we could benefits from dining at the restaurant. We heed to Ivy’s recommendations and ordered Mala-Maki, grilled salmon & braised pork belly and we wrapped up our lunch with pumpkin ice cream with puffed rice! The ice cream has a unique taste and not too sweet. We love it! Food is good and freshly prepared by the chef at the counter. Separate cutlery were served without asking (that’s why I said excellent service!). Dishes were collected after we finished our meal to give us more space and comfort at the restaurant, thumbs up! Overall the food and service are good, we will definitely come back again!

I am addicted to Sen of Japan. The Chefs + foods is so delicious and the presentation is very appetizing. The service staff are all very friendly and welcoming it makes me feel like coming home. To mention the extraordinary service, Ivy, Colour and Ronald play a key factor to convert me to be a regular and to bring friends too. I will be back again very soon! Thumbs up!

Everything we ordered were outstanding. The sashimi (14 pieces for $98) was extremely fresh with some literally melt in the mouth. I wasn’t exaggerating. The uni pasta ($38) infused with truffles was da bomb.
The missing star is due to the ambience which in my view is lacking.

The maguro pizza recommended by the staff, Ivy, who is always very friendly and personable, was fantastic! Mix of fresh tuna and crispy base smeared with truffle oil. Beautiful! Mala maki is my favourite, very delicious maki with a special mala punch that will send you to heaven. We have been back weekly, and will continue to visit again and again!

Apart from the usual Japanese food like Sashimi (which were very fresh)/Sushi/Maki and Tempura, this restaurant has fusion food such as Maguro Pizza (which is a must try), Chicken Teriyaki (which sounds normal but tastes super delicious), chicken gyoza and chicken karaage which were surprisingly good as well.
Something special would be the mekajiki steak which was oozing with fish oil and their A5 Wagyu and Omi A4 which were really tender and well marbled.
Ending our meal with their special pumpkin ice cream (another must try) and their yuzu cheesecake which was sour and sweet at the same time was really refreshing.
Special mention to the chefs who deliver such great and fast food consistently despite the restaurant being packed and all the amazing staff who provided great service.
Definitely worth a visit.

I was here with my hubby for our Wedding anniversary dinner. Sen of Japan is by far the best Japanese restaurant in Singapore which we frequented the most. We are always greeted by their friendly staff. Especially Color. She always has the best recommendation for us that suit our tatse. She will make an effort to understand our taste and that make us feel appreciated.
We especially love the udon here. I love their cold udon as the udon is very springy. My hubby and daughter love their hot udon.
Their sashimi, Carpaccio, carbless maki, pizza are definitely a “Must” order items when we are here at Sen of Japan.
Overall we feel very comfortable and happy dining in Sen of Japan. Highly recommended!

Very fresh sashimi platter with generous serving of sea urchin. Miso eggplant was very well done and maki very tasty and attractively plated. Service was great, especially the warmth & friendliness of Ronald who made very good food recommendations. Will definitely be back!

My wife recently had dinner here, and we ordered the beef steak, tempura, maki, chicken karage and miso soup. All of them taste delicious, and presented nicely too.
Ambience is pretty good, and services are good & efficient. Pricing is on the high side but worth it, especially with Love Dining promotion from AMEX.
They also serve sashimi and many other Japanese dishes. Worth to try while you’re in Singapore, especially if your at Marina Bay Sands mall.
