The building is nice, warm and comfortable. The food was excellent, all the orders were served with care. Mine was a fish with a seafood sauce, tasty and well cooked. Prices are normal for the Alonso de Cordova neighborhood, expensive but within range.

My wife and I lived just two blocks from Tanaka for a number of years, and it was our favorite restaurant. However, on a visit in 2015 and another one in March 2016, we were gravely disappointed. What used to be superbly crafted, delicious Peruvian-Japanese fusion cuisine has degenerated into sloppy, poorly assembled dishes with odd tastes. We used to... More

Best ceviche I have had! Very interesting and delicious sushi options. The sweet potato sushi was usual and delicious.

Discovered Tanaka in the Cordes section of Santiago in February. We enjoyed it so much we went back! First - they do a Peruvian Pisco Sour - egg whites and bitters - it adds a depth compared to the Chilian variety. The menu is varied but the tempura and lomo saldato stand out as did the sushi. Overall a hip... More

A lot of restaurants in Santiago call themselves Nikkei, because they serve both Peruvian food and sushi. True Nikkei is a fusion of both, and Tanaka does this really well. It also serves what in my opinion is the best pisco sour in the city. The restaurant is pretty and relaxing inside, and has both a front and rear patio.... More

We were yesterday again in Tanaka and decided to give 5 stars, based on numerous dinners we had here. Always fresh, perfectly prepared and arranged, good service, pleasant atmosphere, nice music. If you like peruvian/japaneese fusion this is the place to go in Santiago.
