Simple food with atmosphere. The waitress was nice enough & came to the table to give us the history of the place.

You enter in the restaurant and realize that it has something special. All the walls are covered with signed papers. Food is simple but good. We ordered a pork mix for 4 people. It had 4 sausages, 4 pieces of roasted pork ribs, 4 halves of typical Chilean pork roll (arrollado), that was very good and 1 pork arm. Accompanied... More

A great experience in one of the more authentic areas in Santiago. The history oozes along the walls covered in Chilean newspapers, paintings & napkins with notes,,, and while you are captivated by the environment with friendly waitresses make sure to enjoy either a terremoto (earthquake) or maremoto (tsunami) drink. Come with friends as most of the options are sharing... More

Says it's open 10 to 22hrs on the door. It's not. Closed by 7pm today. I would not bother going out your way. Lots of other good options around

Now this is a pretty brightly lit, divey, and inexpensive place. But "scoundrels corner" (according to Pinochet's goons) is a little slice of Chilean history, with inexpensive, humongous piles of mixed grill meats. I highly recommend that anyone visiting Chile who has any interest in Chilean history (and given Chilean history, I hope that encompasses ALL tourists), Rincon de los... More

Typical Chilean "Picada", pork chop, black pudding, saussage, pork leg, with potatoes, Chilean salad and beer or red wine, all at a very economical cost. Nothing fancy or fussy, simple tables, cutlery, glass, paper napkins, every one is treated the same way, either you are a Prince or a Street Cleaner. The wall are covered with pictures, messages, words on... More

This place is a good place to eat and enjoy some time with friends. I found it somehow similar to J.J. Cruz in Valparaíso although this one has a terrible service if you compare them. Do not assume it will be cheap but is not expensive either. The food is substantial and is very well prepared. Our party had mainly... More

Tips: #1 go empty stomach- feast for half day firstly, you will need it; #2 reserve before arriving; #3 password: "canallas, canallas" #4 have fun and bring at least another friend, ***after few drinks you'll have the impression that everyone knows each other from a while back, ***the experience feels like dining in some aging revolutionary’s house; #5 leave only... Originally, this place was located on San Diego street. They moved to here some years ago, and now you don't have to say the password in order to gain access here. When I was here, I was impressed by its walls: they have no place to hold any more messages. The owner is very proud of his collection of paintings,... More

This place shows a real heritage experience, in term of food, service, location and also the place itself. It used to be visited for all those restricted of partying by the Pinochet's rules and also for those hiding away from him!!! If you visit the place just remember the clue: "chile libre Canalla"!!!!
