Recommended by our Patagonian tour guide, we stopped in and had a fantastic meal. The terromoto was like a spiked dole whip and he food was very flavorful. So glad we ventured off the beaten path and tried something local!

This is a good no frills restaurant to try traditional Chilean food. It is a 7 minute walk from the Estación Central metro station on line 1. Upon reaching the station, I plugged the address into google maps on my phone and found the location. It is a crowded place. We ordered the pork dish, the arrollado and Morcilla (blood... More

If your Spanish is as poor as ours, they have an English menu with photos of their popular dishes. Bread was brought to our table with a mildly spicy salsa. We opted for two glasses of the Terremoto ('earthquake') cocktail, a Chilean drink made with a white sweet wine with a scoop of pineapple ice cream making it look like... More

I know Chilean food. I grew up with it. I love it. The people at El Hoya know what they're doing. Yes, there's a lot of tourist hype about this place, especially after Bourdain visited some time ago. But the food is really good. Try the blood sausage with puré picante. Also, the arollado huaso is one of the best... More

I thought this was the one of the best meals I had in Chile. Prices are reasonable, USD 8-15 per plate, and the servings are huge. Hands down the best terremoto(s) blancos I tried. Not that easy to find, but I am glad I did. Go hungry!

Visited it with a friend and my sons -- idea was to repeat Anthony Bourdain´s visit and check what it´s like. Service is good, not too quick but well intentioned (kudos to Ignacio Vasquez). Food is ugly, too strong and extreme, nothing gourmet at all, for the prices they charge; it´s not cheap anymore. Hundreds of better places in Santiago... More

A bit hard to find, in a dodgy part of town, but worth the effort! Great food and the best Pisco Sour of our 2 week long trip. We will definitely return, next time we are in Santiago.

At first, I thought "El Hoyo" was, in fact, a place in a hole but it turned out to be this great restaurant (I was not very convinced when my dad asked us if we wanted to go). The service is great. The ambiance is typically Chilean that you forget that you are in a prestigious restaurant. It is not... More

A fantastic classic chilean place where the dishes are big, is worth every peso every thing that you eat and drink, the place is really warm and confortable, the singers are amazing and make of this a special place.
