Last week was my first visit to this OK restaurant, but had a nice surprise as the quality of food was very good and prices average for this authentic arabic food. I did enjoy a real good hummus with arabic bread, a great lentils soup...More

There are a lot of places you can get a shawarma in Quito, but El Árabe is far above the rest. I've been going there since 2004, and I have seen it grow from a tiny, informal business to the sizeable restaurant it is today....More

El árabe is one of the few restaurants in Quito were you can eat a late lunch or a late dinner. Not mind-blowing but consistent middle easter food. The service can improve considerably. The recent price hike changed the restaurant from moderate to expensive.

It's a little overpriced, but the food is decent and portions are big. We live in Ecuador and go there every now and then to vary our meals. It's in a good location between Plaza Foch and the artesanal market.

The food is good, but kind of pricy for the quality. I did not like the decoration (non-existent) and the atmosphere is like a fast-food grill. kind of. Although the service was good, but I don't think I would go here again.

I am from the middle East and familiar with the cousin. Very expensive and very low quality. Many better restaurants nearby.

We returned last week from a 10-day jaunt through central Ecuador and the Amazon rain forest. Outside of the bacon-like taste of some grubs we tried, we dined on mostly "tipico" Ecuadorian cuisine. Back in Quito, and starved for flavor, we chose El Arabe, near...More
