On the square. Excellent comfort food (Sea bass and Pasta). Comfortable and nicely appointed decor. Repeat customer.

Settled downtown by the flower market and the cathedrals surrounding Park Calderon is Don Colons Restaurant. Designed beautifully with tables outside ( people watching is great) it is the best place for authentic Ecuadorian Food and el muerzo ( it's an affordable lunch with preselected items. Soup, salad, meal, and juice) that I know of in Cuenca. Great food, service,... More

There were four of us and we were all very happy with lunch. My wife and I shared a lentil soup and vegetarian fajitas. Both portions were very large. The soup had a few lentils but lots of potato and great, rich flavor. The fajita portion was huge. An excellent variety of very flavorful grilled vegetables, with very good guacamole... More

Cheap ($7) daily dinner specials with iceberg salad with American-style dressing (yum!) and perfectly steamed fresh vegetables. Patio dining, smoker-friendly.

Fantastic service, great food and pricing. Daily specials were great and the staff are very accommodating towards dietary requirements. They speak English very well and the restaurant is in a great, central location.

We had an enjoyable dinner at this small friendly restaurant. Don Colon himself helped me select a bottle Chilean red from the nicely priced rack of wines. I had one of the evening specials - soup or salad and main for $7.50, while she had a fish dish. We both cleaned our plates. Don Colon give us a complimentary liquor... More

We had lunch there and as with most almuerzos lunches, it came with good potato spinach soup, meat I had breaded pork, rice, vegetables, juice and a desert. A bit above average price but good food. Some nights they have special reservation only dinners. This Saturday it is Beef Filet and Lobster for $16. They also have live music for... More

Special menu is a good value. Food well prepared, cooked as requested. Chocolate mousse a bit disappointing. Service outstanding

My girlfriend and I were in Cuenca and she decided to treat me to dinner. My first choice was Raymipampa to eat some Ecuadorian food, but once we arrived and saw the menu we thought it seemed a bit too overpriced. I had passed Don Colon Restaurant earlier and since it was 30 seconds away we walked over to look... More
