Our first meal in Cusco, it set the mood for my wife and I's visit very well. Dining on the intimate rooftop patio (I think there were three tables total in our area), we were afforded a beautiful view of the rooftops of Cusco all...More

This was our first meal in Cusco and it set the bar very high! We ordered the alpaca and the quinoa with trout and both dishes were incredible. The service was also great. Overall amazing value!

We made a last minute dinner booking at Marcelo Batata and it did not disappoint. We were seated quickly and our waiter was attentive and was happy to recommend his favourite dishes. The restaurant was easy to find from Plaza de Armaz. The Smoked Trout...More

When we went there for the first time, the food was spectacular!!! The smoked trout starter was smashing, every mouth full was an explosion of flavours, the alpaca was amazing. The service was bad though. No interest in client. Second time when we went we...More

About a 10 minute walk from Plaza De Armas. Walk up Calle Triunfo and hang a left on Calle Palacio. The restaurant is above clothing store. We got there when they opened at noon, but they opened the door maybe at 12:15pm or so, and...More

The view of Cusco from the rooftop, whilst noshing on delicious causitas is a very fond memory we will have of Marcelo Batata. The food was good and the service was excellent. We ate on the rooftop which meant that our waitress had to navigate...More

It was a little cold, but we ate in the rooftop area. The views alone would make this a priority on any visitor's list, but the food was also delicious! With affordable prices and courteous staff, it would be a sin to miss out on...More

This was an excellent place for food. The dishes were served hot and very tasty. The wait staff was very professional and accommodating. We were there with a group and everything was perfect despite the numbers of orders for the staff to keep track of.

We had a large group and reserved an upstairs table. But it looked like there were plenty of walk-in tables available.

Description
Our kitchen offers both tradtional and avant garde cuisine, always focusing on rediscovering age-old recipes that allow us to take yesterday's flavors to today's table. Our specialty is Criolle and Andean cuisine where we highlight the essence of this beautiful mix of varieties that provides us with an endless array of flavors and that each Peruvian carries in their veins. In appreciation for all products we utilize we allow ourselves to play with new flavors and sensations based on the immense diversity of native products available: aji (Peruvian chili pepper), distinct passion fruits, avocados, rice and corn varieties are some of our favorites to explore with. Slow cooking dishes and the high flames of our grill are our favorite preparation techniques to use here at Marcelo Batata.
