This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at El Albergue. In August Restaurant Tayta had recently moved to a new location just off the Plaza de Armas. It is a charming place, located in what was once an original Incaic structure. The upper floor of this restaurant is museum-like with pre-Columbian pottery on the surrounding wallls. We ate here every day during our 4 day in Ollantaytambo. The three course lunch was a bargain at 25 soles. We loved the sopa criolla and the grilled trout with mashed potatoes. everything was fresh and delicious. It is a treat, indeed, to enhance your visits to the Inca ruins by experiencing Happy Hour and/or a delicious meal in this historic setting.
