I was REALLY impressed with my visit to the Village Anchor. I reserved at table for two for their Valentine's day dinner. It was one of the least expensive options in town for the evening! We were promptly seated when we arrived at 7:50. I can see how the space might appear cramped to some but we were seated in... More

Hadn't been here in about a year so I got a group of together for brunch. We were the first group there and got a great spot by the fireplace. Everyone's food was good, only exception was that peppers were not listed on the cornbeef hash and there's a food allergy issue. We ordered a several different dishes-the hash, as... More

Recently made my first trip to the Village Anchor. For those not familiar w the Louisville area it's located on the east side in the Anchorage neighborhood (older, large estates). Walking in I was immediately impressed by the look and feel. It has that old feel of a tucked away, slightly upscale place. Sat at the end of a smallish... More

The Shrimp and grits are very flavorful and my Husbands Pork loin was cooked perfectly. We added a very fresh a la cart Salad and the wine was price well at $35 a bottle. Only thing I didn't care for was that we were sat in an outside tent due to remodeling while others dined upstairs and although we know... More

Food was excellent, highly recommend the wontons as an appetizer. Fried chicken was delicious. Nice atmosphere as well. Make a reservation well in advance. Went on a Tuesday night and it was packed.

Another great evening hanging out with Rod47172 and Robin. Add in Alexander and a great setting for relaxation in front of a real fireplace glowing in warmth and you are all set. Start out with some bourbon and pretzels with beer cheese. Add some sweet potatoes with BBQ and marshmallow sauces and settle in. For the main course, we had... More

I wind up here about every six to eight months with a group and always hope it will be better. It never is. Once again we had slow service that was borderline rude. The room we always get seated in is really a patio. When the blower kicks on you roast and then when it kicks of we freeze. In terms... More

I began eating at Village Anchor the Christmas after they opened. It only took one visit to get me hooked. One month later, I took my husband there to celebrate his birthday and then we were both hooked. We are regular visitors to The Anchor and The Sea Hag downstairs. No matter what we choose, we always enjoy the food... More

Six of us for family dinner at Village Anchor couple days before Thanksgiving. Great atmosphere and decor. I had the Fish sandwich and chips, and the large piece of fish was excellent. It came on a slice of sour dough bread. Side item that came with the meal was brocolli cold slaw which was ok. Others in my party had... More

Our meal was great there was 5 of us and everyone had great food. This is one our favorite places to eat. You have to order the banana pudding when you order your food the chief only makes 25 each day and it comes hot and wonderful
