Tuesday night and the last night for visiting family and the choice was Italian. The reviews were great and they are correct. We were the only ones there (a little early for typical dinner) so that may have helped a little with the service. The food was excellent (unfortunately I do not like capers and my dish was seasoned with caper oil or some similar strong flavor). Every thing was steaming hot and very good portions. We were give a small welcome juice, then a plate of fresh breads and cheese showed up, then the main courses, then a perfectly sized portion of Tiramisu for dessert and then a pot of coffee and a tea pot with a large selection of teas. I know the preference here is for very sweet and also the coffee was likely Italian style but the coffee was already sweetened and so sweet it was undrinkable for us...personal preference).
Expensive by Managua/Nicaragua standards ($18-30 / dish) but considering all the little extras, it was reasonable.
So all in all a great evening for the final night with family.

Delicious, authentic Italian food in Managua. The portions are huge, and the accompaniments are generous, making this place a good value. Upon arrival, we were each given a small glass of red wine, and then before we even ordered, bruschetta and bread were delivered to the table, followed by an entire pizza with tomato sauce and garlic. We ordered the salmon fettuccine and spaghetti with meat sauce, and both were delicious. At the end of the meal, we were each given full sized pieces of cake and espresso and tea. Everything was absolutely divine, and I plan to return with my family some time. The chef / owner is a delight, and the staff are extremely attentive and efficient. You will not be disappointed after a meal here, but definitely come hungry!

Was a delightful surprise, the outside of the restaurant honestly did not look quite attractive but we decided to give it a chance.
Once inside the service is imazing, the chef introduces himself and starts creating a great experience. Prices are not cheap at first but when you see the amount of appetizers on the house, the meal and dessert is reasonable or even cheap due to the quality of the food and service.

We tried Tonelli's Restaurant here in Managua, Nicaragua on the recommendation of a friend and were treated with hospitality unlike any we had experienced before. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by a cheerful server who presented us with a complimentary glass of white wine to the end of meal amaretto and chocolate cake extras, we were absolutely pampered. While waiting for our dinner to arrive we were graciously served with complimentary & delicious bruschetta & warm, crusty buns with a spicy dipping oil followed by a simple but tasty pizza! Despite all these extras I ate every bit of the delectable fettuccine with bacon, sausage, and nuts that I ordered. The waiters were very attentive all evening long without being invasive and the owner himself came in twice to check in on us. Never before had any of us in our dinner party felt so spoiled at a restaurant - thank you Tonelli's! We will be back!

We had the most wonderful lunch here! Upon arrival, we were given a small glass of red wine and a delicious order of fresh bruschetta. Then after we ordered, they came out with a full margarita pizza on the house, which was incredible! I was almost too full before the meal even came! The shrimp and asparagus risotto was perfectly cooked with impeccable flavors. At the end of the meal we were given some delicious cake and a small glass of amaretto. What a surprising and lovely experience! The waitstaff were warm, kind, and attentive and the Chef exuded passion for his establishment. We felt incredibly welcomed and would go back in a heartbeat. This is not a place to miss out on!

I will highly recommend visiting this restaurant; the food tastes homemade, the best service in Managua, you are greeted and feel welcome from the owner (chef) to everyone in there.
I had previously visited years ago in a work meeting and decided this time to come back and bring my family. My grandma was amazed and left with a smile.
We requested the special seafood pasta and tried the sangria. We were also offered on the house some bruschettas as an appetizer, drinks while we waited to be seated, and after all that food, dessert, tea, and a digestive drink. This experience was spectacular. I will definitely come more often.

Tonelli's blew me away with their service. We were greeted with a small tasting of wine, followed by complimentary bruschetta and simple tomato sauce + garlic pizza. The servers were extremely polite and attentive. Our food was delicious - I had a lovely seafood dish that was not shy on the portions of fish and shrimp, cooked to a wonderfully soft texture, and accompanied by a variety of vegetables. The menu has a ton of interesting options, from simple pastas to more exotic Italian classics. After our meal, we were treated with a small tasting of Amaretto and chocolate cake. What's more, the owner personally came in to wish us Bon Appétit and ensure we were enjoying our evening, which made us really feel as if we were cared for. If you're looking for great food, exceptional service, and a laid-back atmosphere, Tonelli's is the place to be!

Amazing; the best service in Managua restaurants. Authentic Italian food. The portions are huge and the extras are generous. Upon arrival, we were each given a glass of wine, and then before we even ordered, bruschetta and pizza were delivered, too; at the end they gave us a glass of amaretto; it was so delicious. The dessert was the cherry on top for the night, with a delicate lemon and cinnamon flavor. A dream!

This is a family owned restaurant and they treat you as such. Upon arriving we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and our young daughter was given a glass of fruit punch made from natural juice. They also provided us complimentary bread and pizza as an appetizer. The meal that we ordered could be shared and it was seasoned perfectly and served quickly. At the end of our meal they provided a complimentary glass of a digestif, dessert, coffee, and tea. They were even kind enough to package the complimentary pizza and dessert to go since we were too full! The food is amazing and the service is exceptional!

Unbelievable.
Incredible food, great staff, warm welcomes, and courtesy drinks on entry. Could not believe it.
We went just as we had a craving for Italian and left with the best dining experience in Managua.
We ordered the fish pasta of the day for 2 people, an item not on the menu, and we could have fed 4. Seeing them bring a second table just for the food was a fun sight, and some jokes were had with the staff. The image included is one of the two plates I was served.
The food was amazing, pasta done perfect, just aldente to have a bite. The desert was the best pannacotta I have had in my life.
100% reccomended to anyone in Nicaragua from LeĂłn to Rivas to go just to experience it.

Amazing Italian food, and the best service. The owner (and chef) came to check in a couple of times to make sure everything was on point, and we received several gifts throughout the course of the night. The service was 5 starts, and the food was amazing. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience the best restaurant in Managua. Waiters are very polite and always giving you the best service. The food is so delicious I give 10 stars of 10 Chef is a lovely person very polite, and seems to be a great family head.

Tonelli Ristorante adds up to 15 stars
Wonderfully done food, service as good as it gets, atmosphere very authentic, with extra’s sprinkled in throughout your dining experience. It doesn’t get any better in my opinion. Yes this is my first review I don’t write reviews. That’s how good these guys are.

Both my wife and I when to Ristorante Tonelli for lunch on october 12, 2023. It was an overall great experience. We have been living in Nicaragua since 2015 and, to tell you the truth, this is the first restaurant we go to that when we leave the restaurant, we feel so great about the experience that we talk to our friends about it.
We felt welcomed as soon as we stepped into the restaurant. They prepared the area /table for us and brought us in. different types of bread was waiting for us to taste us as a courtesy of the house. My wife ordered spaghetti with fresh tomatoes, and I ordered spaghetti with shrimp with white sauce. The server was very attentive, and the owner/chef came in twice to let us know about the food and after the meal to ask about it the taste. The food was GREAT and we'll come back very soon.
We highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the great experience.

This is my favorite Italian food in all of Nicaragua. It is the very best! I have tried different plates and the chef is always giving complementary dishes as well. If we order one thing, he comes out with 2-3 extras. The food is amazing
