I had fish (cod) as the main course. It was fried but tasted more steamed then fried. The meal was good but not excellent. What was nicely done was the interior decor. Lovely small cafe with hanging pots and pans and Bolivian art work.

The lunch was excellent. It is composed of four courses: salad, Spanish Tortilla, main entree, and dessert all for a reasonable price. The staff was wonderful and the ambiance was peaceful. Truly an excellent place for eating.

They have a planned meal with some choices. It is like a home cooked meal. You can watch your food being cooked. Everything is fresh and unique to Panama. An excellent selection of wines and drinks. The service is friendly and prompt. It is located in the Casco Viejo and is in an old, colonial building. We visit Panama 3... More

The atmosphere is basic...tables here, kitchen there. The menu selection is simple...either lunch or dinner, with adjustments made based on dietary needs. Your role is to sit with your friends and enjoy plate after plate (at dinner) of small portions of excellent food, ending, in our case, with what my wife said was the best brownie she's ever eaten. Service... More

My husband and I happened on this quaint little cafe in the historic part of Panama city. We went in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by a 3 course lunch for $10. A very nice salad was followed by a well cooked entre which included a chicken or fish with Thai style rice nicely seasoned. A small but satisfying... More

We found this place while roaming around hungry and hot and it was perfect. Fixed menu, very generous portions. Great starter of a sort of frittata, followed by salad, chicken (my husband had pork), great flavored rice -- ended with really nice chocolate cake. We never eat that much for lunch but we did, happily! With fruit frappe drinks the... More

We were taken by a local, who booked - this is well worth doing to avoid disappointment as Rene's is used by small tour groups. The four course lunch is very good value, not least as the rice is cooked properly and is very tasty and the salad is fresh - and good to eat. The chilled local beer goes... More

Service was great! Food was delicious and healthy; like homemade. Loved the place! Incredible prices. They have a lunch special that includes a salad, Spanish tortilla, Arab rice, the meat of your choice and desert for $10dollars per person.
