The Mercado Mariscos is interesting in itself, but the many options for eating fish that fresh will boggle the mind. Different vendors have almost-sidewalk restaurants where you can get fresh fish, fries and beer. All while you watch the fishing boats come in and tie up. Our only complaint was that - for some reason - the particular place we... More

Did the must have ceviche here. Tried both the combination order and the langostino. First time ceviche eaters. The wife, who is a fish lover, did not care for it, I did not mind it. I however was unsure what the big deal is about ceviche, it tastes all the same, lime. Never the less the place was interesting. I... More

There are many stands and each one one that I have tried is good. I would suggest taking your pick based on the shade you can get if it is sunny out, and how busy it is. It is also a great place to have a nice patio dinner - nothing fancy, but a very tasty option in an area... More

Simply fresh seafood fresh off the boats in a local seafood market place. There are 6 or 7 alfresco places to sit down and eat outside the market. Walk through them all before deciding on your choice. I chose the next to last stand simply due to there were more locals....I liked it. Shrimp, lobster, calamari etc. right off the... More

Good Quality ceviche for only 3 USD. You can have all different types of ceviche here, with a vibrant local vibe.

Local fish market with seafood fresh off the boats. Great local flavor. Restaurant serving fresh local seafood on the second floor. Well worth seeing.

This typical Panamanian restaurant, Mercado de Mariscos, is housed on the top floor of Seafood Market. It is not a fancy restaurant nor will you see many tourists in it. This open air diner-style restaurant is a must visit. You can be sure of one thing, their seafood are fresh. You can order from their menu or they will cook... More

Great seafood in the open air restaurants. Great fresh seafood in a noisy busy setting. The fishing boats provide a colorful backdrop to the setting

The fish market is not a good visit for those of a delicate nature or for those who like everything vacpacked! The stalls are the same - basic everything - including menu, seating and service. If you like an experience then you should try it - but don't expect European style fresh fish market. It's not that cheap either.

Seafood plays a central role in Panama City dining—and no place captures it better than the Mercado de Mariscos. At this fish market, you’ll literally bump into fishermen carrying their catches and taking them to the many vendors inside. Be sure to order an affordable and super-fresh cup of ceviche on the first floor—or head to the super-casual but delicious sit-down seafood eatery upstairs.
