Offers many options for beers, bloody Mary’s and dinning. We had the calamari appetizer and soft shell crab special for dinner, both were very well prepared. Average service. Offers indoor and outdoor seating. The inside restaurant atmosphere and decor is very neat and colonial.

Went there past weekend and seemed that this place has changed a great deal since last visit pre-covid. Wait staff was really new, very young, and un-informed but pleasant. Sign of the employment times I guess. I was suprised no one new where oysters came...from (I was inquiring about salinity) and after having to get the cook to come out of kitchen he did not even know the origin. I thought resturants were supposed to know the organ in case someone became ill? Crab soup had no crab meat ublike past visit. Guess I will give it another try but I am opting to start with a cup instead of a bowl.More

While Latitude 38 has awesome wait staff and maitre de and servers, Federal is HORRENDOUS. Do not go to this place when there are so many other great restaurants in Annapolis and the city dock area. Walking up to the restaurant some guy in a...pickup starts yelling at one of his buddies who was setting up chairs. Five feet away from me, the employee is yelling obscenities back at his buddy. With people walking right in front of him. Walk inside, I ask if the young lady is the maitre de. She remains mute. I ask if I can get a table for three. She states the interior is closed (why is this when every other place is open?) and to sit outside. I sit outside as all tables are empty. One of the other jerks working there rolls up and states "hey bro, you can't sit there". Okay bro! Keep in mind I am not a teenager but 50 years old.More

I'm not someone who regularly writes reviews, but if I could give negative stars I would. I had an issue with the menu -- the issue was small, the menu does not clearly state a distinction between a salad ordered off the soup and salad...menu and the regular salads. I spoke to my server about the issue who was flippant about it, only to have the manager continue and say "Makes sense to me. You're the only person who has ever had this problem....Don't come back, we don't need your business." I'm a kid who came with my dog, and I've worked in restaurants before. I offered to pay for the egg they made the dog because he ate it, but I said I didn't want my meal. That's it. It would have been so easy to say "wow, no one has pointed that out before, let me see what I can do" or even "unfortunately there isn't anything I can do." But never in my life would I talk to someone the way they spoke to me, much less a customer. Maybe they were having a bad day, but I just found the whole incident unconscionable and unecessary -- it was an easy problem to solve. Really disappointing and disgusting behavior out of the staff and manager at Federal House.More

When you have a group of teens with you, it's not always easy to find something that makes everyone happy...but this place did. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The waiter was exceptional. Several people had the fish and chips and said it was top...notch. I ordered the Chicken Diablo which was deliciously spicy. Federal House was a perfect choice to get inside on a chilly, rainy day.More

Out on the town on a Saturday night while visiting friends in Annapolis, we came here for a few drinks and a bite to eat. While pretty crowded, we were able to sneak in at a high top table with our six people. We were...served pretty quickly despite how busy it was by Matt L. The beer was cold and the crab soup was excellent. My wife and I enjoyed our burgers and had a fun night catching up with our good friends who also enjoyed their drinks/food.More

Enjoyed some great crab sandwiches here, washed down with some good local craft beers. Lovely staff and a decent menu with reasonable prices.

Food is below average at exorbitant prices. Portions are small and it's amateur pub food. Extensive beer menu is nice. Everything is expensive here. Good bar area.

Dropped in on a cold , rainy day at the recommendation of a friend. Sat at the bar with my husband . Started with the cream of crab soup and vegetable crab soup. Tons of crab and perfect taste to warm us up. Huge selection...of draft beers and drinks. We split one of the chef’s chicken specials - they even separated into two portions without us asking. It was the perfect proration and very tasty. In a previous review someone commented on the above average pricing - they must not be from “ a city”. Everything was perfect. Lots of football on tv’s in the bar- warm and cozy !More

NO, the federal house was always there since the last 50 years i've been going and est.1830, but you may be thinking of "the Maryland Inn" which is right around the corner ? hopefully that helps :)

if not readily available on street you can check the dock area. If none there, right on main st is the hillman parking garage, a 3 minute walk and most restaurants validate.
