I had The catfish po boy sandwich it was not a fillet piece of catfish instead it was three little pieces like fish fingers and also had too much salt and a lot of bread not worth the $12 charge. I won’t order again.
We were hungry the night we went to Soul. We had a delicious meal on their patio. We started with the fried green tomatoes and then had the seafood gumbo, the shrimp and grits, the rice/bean and sausage and the cheese flatbread with figs. Our...young grand daughter enjoyed the Mac & cheese. Everything tasted delicious and portions are generous. We ended our meal with the homemade doughnuts and apple crisp. I highly recommend this place. Food is reasonably priced and we had outstanding service. I feel badly for the customers who did not have a good experience. Ours was great. We will be back!More
My husband and I went to the restaurant and sat outside. We sat at the table for 10 minutes before we were waited on while tables who came after us were waited on before us. That was the first problem. Once we ordered, we had...to wait for someone to come and refresh our drinks. The flies were absolutely awful. Once the main course came, we couldn't take a bite without being swarmed by flies. We mentioned it to our waitress. She said, "oh yes, they've been a problem for awhile." We then asked for our bill and left without finishing our meals.
To be honest, their food is not anything exceptional. The gumbo was awful - too much of a smoky flavor. It tasted like they used way too much liquid smoke. Who uses liquid smoke in gumbo???
We will not be returning even though we had visited on numerous occasions.More

Thank you for stopping by. I'm sorry to hear your service was not up to our standards. With COVID we have had some trouble keeping fully staffed and it appears you hit us on one of those days. We are terribly sorry about that. Just...More
My husband and I have done curbside pick-up during COVID-19, and our experience has been exceptional! The customer service is outstanding, and the food is truly delicious. Soul has really earned their high ratings. This was such a great find - we highly recommend it!
If I ever want to meet someone who wants a relaxed atmosphere and great food, I always suggest Soul. It's not fancy, just set in some strip stores, and has no view of beautiful downtown Annapolis. Here's what Soul has: a spotless interior, great service,...reasonable prices, and outstanding food. I went with some friends on a Saturday night, and had a roasted squash flatbread with candied ginger that was eye-poppingly good, and the mushroom risotto which was just perfect in taste and texture. What I really like about Soul is that as a vegetarian I can pull together a mouth-watering meal while my omnivore friends enjoy what they like. I have been to Soul over a dozen times, and I have never, ever been disappointed. BTW, if you are there for weekend brunch, try the deep-fried eggs with Cajun remoulade. It's one of my all-time faves.More
Don't show up in the last half hour of the night because they won't serve you. 9:32pm on a Saturday and they're "about to close up". Fortunately Annapolis offers numerous places to grab a drink and that will serve you until actual last call. They...were rude about it and huffed when I tired to order. They are lucky to have so much success that they don't need to take in the extra revenue.More
Mixed bag here
I've eaten here 2 times recently. My husband and I went in for dinner and ended up going the small plate route. The deviled eggs and brussel sprouts were good. The grits less so.
The second...time was weekend brunch. It was a little busy but not what I would consider slammed but the service was way off. After being seated we waited quite some time before anyone even acknowledged us and then it was the young lady who seated us. We ordered Bloody Mary's which were good but completely ungarnished - not even a lemon or lime slice! Just odd. My sister and I again split a few items. The fried pickles were interesting because they were a mix of items not just dill pickles. We also had a flatbread that was good.
Food is interesting but the service needs work.More
This was my third visit to this establishment. They have never disappointed me. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive each time. Whether I was alone or dining with friends. I will visit again
