The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and relaxing. The waiter was very knowledgeable about how the food was prepared and if something could be left out due to allergies. The Sea Bass (dorado) meunière was excellent. I wanted a Guatemalan dish and the Shrimp in Pepian sauce (well described by the waiter) was also excellent. Panna Cotta was a... More

We stayed at the El Convento Hotel where Elu is at. We were tired and decided to dine there as we didn't want to hassle going out. We were pleasantly surprised to find it was an exceptional meal with attentive staff. The food was inspired and we felt there were many dishes we hadn't tried, so came back the next... More

Stayed here for five days and had many meals at Elu. This is clearly one of the best restaurants in Antigua. The breakfast is first rate, and highly recommend the Guatemalan breakfast, the avocado and egg on toast, the eggs Benedict with spinach, and the baked eggs in a savory tomato sauce. And loads and loads of wonderful coffee and... More

The restaurant at the El Convento Hotel offered good fare and excellent service when visited by a group for post meeting dinner. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu items and expertly guided us through the various dishes. the experience was enhanced by the soothing music and pleasing surroundings. Overall a most satisfying experience.

We celebrated Father's Day and had dinner here. I asked for a salmon that was good but the rice was without a good shape and flavor. We asked for dessert for a chocolate bomb that was terrible, dry and without chocolate inside. We asked for three of these type of desserts and the three were the same. An unfortunate experience... One of the few truly fine dining experiences in Antigua. We had fish and steaks and they were unique with a beautiful presentation, taste and superb service. Top shelf all the way

Fantastic food (which was frankly missing in most of the restaurants we visited the entire week in Antigua). The atmosphere seemed a bit stuffy and overly European upon entering and sitting down, but the food was sublime! The chocolate volcano cake for dessert is a must!

For our first evening in Guatemala, we were pleasantly surprised by this gourmet meal. Both my husband and I ordered fish. They were delicious and uniquely prepared. The meal was relaxing. We also had breakfast here and found it very good.

From the lovely ambiance to the interesting menu and service .....this is a fine dining experience. The appetizers, main plates and desserts are uniquely prepared and presented. Everything we had were a palates delight. This is as good as it gets in Antigua fine dining.

All of the dishes sounded very interesting. We ordered a few appetizers and a number of entrées to share with the table. Unfortunately the timing of the dishes being brought out was random--eg a couple mains arrived with a couple appetizers for example. When we ordered a bottle of champagne, the waiter filled the tasting glass all the way, which... More
