We loved the garden of Big Tree Cafe. It has such a zen vibe that fits with Luang Prabang. Highly recommended! As for the food, my wife had a fish katsu (deep fried fish), which was one of the best we ever had, and I had a burger with fries and a beer for 50k kipp. The burger was made... More

It's targeting tourists, but it's still an excellent spot for a meal. The service was excellent. The korean girl working there spoke excellent English, and knew all about the Lao food on the menu, and explained both dishes we ordered (Laap and Or Lam) to us very well. The food arrived quickly & was very tasty. The setting is beautiful,... More

We went for dinner one evening and sat in the garden area which is beautifully lit. We devoured the free banana chips with our beer whilst we looked at the menu. Eventually decided on the chicken laap and Korean beef hotpot on recommendation from the owner who is friendly and helpful. The food was incredible. Highly recommend this place for... More

The service here was great, as soon as we were seated we had wait staff ready with a menu and cold water for the table. I ordered the burger and beer deal (50000 kip) and my wife got vegetable noodle soup. The food was delivered sooo fast, it was tasty and well presented. Highly recommend coming for lunch/dinner.

We were first taken to the Big Tree Cafe by our guide for drinks and snacks prior to going to the Garavek. On the basis of that we took friends there for lunch the next day and they went there again after we had left. I hint that says it all.

Two couples went in for lunch today. We tried Bi Bim Bap ( or something like that!) and it was great. Two of us shared one and had fried spring rolls alongside. We added some chilli paste to spice it up a bit while the other couple enjoyed theirs as it came. You get a bowl of food with a... More

Large menu offering Lao, Western and Korean dishes. Wife of owner is Korean. We had dinner and the weather was pleasant so we ate Lao dishes in the garden area which was very nice. Friendly staff . Highly recommend a visit.

Me and my friends were wonder around and looked for lunch when we first day arrived in Luang Prabang. Due to the currency, we were a bit lost for the exchange rate. However, after we wonder in the main street and yet, we finally back to this restaurant nearby our guest house. We were attracted by the beautiful garden in... More

We were a bit late getting here and seats in the garden were all taken. Inside was fine, service good, food disappointing. Perhaps because we were so late some things were unavailable, and although the prices were reasonable there was not a lot of flavour. Not saying don't try, but on the night we went it was not as good... More

Really nice atmosphere in a beautifully landscaped prettily lit garden. Very good and varied food - Korean, Lao, Thai. The service was friendly and they didn't mind our small kids running around a bit. There is a photography gallery above the restaurant with superb photos of Lao life. We came here twice.
