I don't live on a budget that would make this a regular eating establishment. So, after living in Luang Prabang for five months, my wife and I only recently visited Blue Lagoon Restaurant (on our first opportunity to eat out without the kids). This is a great restaurant for a date. The food is expensive. But the quality of the... More

Wonderful food, great ambiance, excellent service. A little on the pricy side for Luang Prabang, but it was well worth it.

Ended up eating here twice after less than satisfactory experiences elsewhere in town. Enjoyed the combination of European and Asia influences, papaya soup was a delightful surprise and we found the best bread in Luang Prabang. Service was attentive and interesting conversations with the Executive Chef were an added bonus. Prices are medium to high.

The food is what you would expect from a five star restaurant. I had the beef stroganoff and the beef was so tender and the sauce and pasta were wonderful. I never thought that beef in Asia could be so good except for Cut in Singapore.

For a European, this was one of the least interesting places we ate in South East Asia. Our hotel recommended the place, but we were not very satisfied. The quality of the food and place is very nice, but the food was Swiss/European, and the Asian food they had were not very Lao, but simply the classic "Asian" dishes you... More

Followed trip advisor recommendations and not disappointed. Located near one end of the night market, it is conveniently located on less busy side street. Nice menu with western, local and fusion choices. We started with a mushroon soup, bread with garlic butter then had the shrimp and lemongrass ravioli and beef bourguignon. We finished with chocolate mousse despite our better... More

This was one of the best places we've eaten during our holidays in Laos. Food was delicious and generally dishes are very carefully presented. We liked the contact we had with the chef and owner of the restaurant who went around each and every table to be sure everybody was ok. We enjoyed everything even though it was raining cats... More

We called in for a drink after dinner and the night markets. Cocktails were good, the house wine not great but cheap and service warm, friendly and great

After 4 weeks of rice we felt like a change , so when we saw this well patronised restaurant we decided to take a chance . We have so often been disappointed in Asia when small restaurants try to tackle a European menu. I must say Blue Lagoon was very good.

I might be easily impressionable because I don't usually frequent gourmet restaurants or places that focus more on presentation than authenticity. But a fellow traveler highly recommended the Blue Lagoon and we paid them a visit for dinner. I have to admit that it was the best meal I had in our 5 days in LP. The presentation was excellent...
