Le Banneton Cafe is not perfect but their pastries are flaky and delicious. They also make good coffee and gelato. I had a roast beef sandwich for lunch with real warm beef and fried potatoes with grainy mustard on a baguette. Amazing!!! The location next to the second largest temple complex and the smiling staff are all positives. Be warned... More

Personally, the croissants weren't to my liking, as I prefer mine with lashings of butter incorporated in the mix but my French friend was fine with it. So, to each his own. The crepes, though! Oo la la . .. . I had mine the simple way - butter, sugar, and a squeeze of lime. Washed down with either a... More

Lovely location with tables outside - quieter end of town near Wat Xieng - food looks good and it's popular but the coffee is very average.

This cafe rates high in the Lonely Planet guide. This motivated us to stop for a coffee there. The coffee was mediocre. We also ordered a croissant which was nice but nothing to rave about. It was not an unpleasant experience but wasn't noteworthy either.

Fresh croissants and baguettes with fresh juice at a quiet location! Prices are definately higher comparing to local prices, but it is worth to go there!

Coffee, juice, croissant, eggs, baguette - all excellent. Much nicer atmosphere and locale than sister branch in Vientiane.

There is a reason this place gets good reviews. The bakery sells great pastries, which make you feel as though you are in Europe, not in Asia. The almond cream pain au chocolat was so tasty, and all the original croissants had sold out by midday when we went, so if that's what you're after arrive early! Well located, near... More

As a traveller, I happened to drop by this bakery. I eventually just waltzed for some drinks, but the bake goods keep me back. With no doubt, the pastry there delightful. Croissants are light and puffy, and so are the baguettes. They are super duper good that I had them to take out. Later I'll have them with the ham... More

This is a delightful spot for breakfast, lunch, or light dinner, and can be a pleasant place for tasty French food such as baguette sandwiches, tartines, and quiche. The fresh iced tea with lime is cool and refreshing. View of temples across the Street, illuminated at night. If you're lucky, you may hear the monks chanting.

Description
Excellant french bakery which also has a branck in Vientiane. Has over 30 types of bread & pastaries. Open from 6.30AM to about 9PM. Very good coffee. I am a regular there for my morning coffee & pastry. I can upload a photo.
