Ate dinner here three times in our six days in Luang Prabang - entranced by the post-sunset light over the river confluence and the bamboo bridge. Pretty setting, good food, good service. Would have returned another time, but we arrived a little late for food....It’s better to get there earlier!More

January TripAdvisor reviews were negative so wanted to update. We booked at lunchtime for eve meal as looked lovely. Later put off by TA reviews but more recent Google much better so we went. Superb! Fried spring rolls starter probably best of 4 weeks tour...of Indochina. Pad Thai Prawn and Tom Yum Chicken delicious. Service first class. Bamboo bridge sadly gone for 2 years to allow boats through to work on reinforcing river banks, but ferry replaces. Lunchtime great views but eve nice atmosphere too. Menu has mostly Lao food lunchtime and western food eve, but no problem to order off lunch menu for eve, which we did. Looks like restaurant now fully recovered post-covid to former glories, strong recommendation to support them through absence of bamboo bridge.More

During my previous visit to Luang Prabang in 2017, this place was heaven on earth. I recently went back a few and was very disappointed. The view is of course still spectacular, but quality of food and service aren't what they used to be... One...time I ordered the spring rolls' , and got them not fried .... a heap of sticky blubber... When I showed my surprise to the waiter he said -all uninterested- that I should have asked for FRIED .... Another time I ordered one cocktail and got charged for a 'jar of cocktail'. Only after checking my bill and complaining it got corrected.... Another time I ordered a green curry with chicken and it got served without rice... Only after complaining they brought (6 min's later) the boiled rice... Which then also got charged separately ... And there were a few other unpleasant little things like this ..... Conclusion : I regret how a wonderful place like this gets scr*wed up by uninterested staff. I'll never go back again.More

Lovely location right on the water. Staff spent a lot of time sweeping up the constantly falling tamarind leaves. Good food, attentive staff.

Had dinner in this restaurant after visiting the bamboo bridge below. Order 3 items. Papaya salad is very spicy and taste weird. Lao beef steak is very chewy and hard to eat. Sausage is the only one edible. But the Laos coffee is good. The...view is very nice. After that, me and my wife get stomach ache and diarea.More

Beautiful spot, magnificent views , the best in Luang Prabang, where the Mekong and NamKhan rivers meet. The staff are incredibly friendly too.

The restaurants biggest asset is the stunning view of the river confluence. The food was good, with a basic selection of Lao and western food. Their version of som tam was judged to be good.

Our last night of a relaxing week in Luang Prabang and we chose the Viewpoint Restaurant and we are so glad we did. The location is spectacular overlooking the junction of the two rivers and a bamboo bridge, we came early enough to enjoy the...sunset and the river life below. Staff were professional and friendly and the whole restaurant had a more “upmarket” feel to it compared to others, cloth napkins, comfortable seating with cushions, sparkling glassware etc Started our evening with cocktails and a plate of spring rolls, followed by yellow chicken curry and chicken on bamboo, absolutely delicious. We wandered back to our hotel after a lovely evening at the Viewpoint Restaurant.More

We asked prior to sitting down if they take visa and the staff said yes, did not mention to us that there was a minimum. We ordered a Laos beer and mango and sticky rice. The mango is sticky rice is pretty flavorless, lacking in...coconut flavor or really any flavor. I have had way better even in the USA. When we asked for the bill they said there was a minimum and refused to take our card. At any rate we had to exchange some $ at a much lower rate than we can exchanged outside. View is nice. I stayed at this hotel (Mekong River view) 5 years ago and don’t remember the service being so bad. I think it must have gone downhill in service. We won’t be coming back for sure.More

I'm a running an hotel here and just joined friends for a coffee at my lunch break. The stunning view being one of the best in town. The expresso arrived spilled, on a saucer that didn't fit the cup. No glass of water and it...tasted like a small americano... For the price of 25.000kip, wich is one of the highest price for a coffee in town... A town filled with excellent coffee places in a country that produces excellent beans. Upon trying to explain it to the manager, I had almost no reaction nor excuses or attempt to repair the problem. I'm not the type of person to complain much but my disappointment today here had to be shared.More
