After I returned home, I was shocked to discover that my Seoul Garden take-out dinner contained just 3 small banchans (side dishes). I called Seoul Garden and told the woman who took my phone order that the restaurant server neglected to give me enough side...dishes to accompany the 5 entrees that I had ordered. She said that the “rule” for take-out orders was to include only 3 side dishes per order, no matter how large the order was. I said, “you mean that if I ordered ten Bulgogi entrees, it would be the same as If I ordered just one Bulgogi entree?” She saId “yes, that is the rule.” My order total was over $82 for five dishes. I’ll never go back. The woman even said something along the line of, “That is the restaurant rule. What do you want me to do about it?” I suggest that Seoul Garden warn the customers of its “rule” either on its website or when people place the orders over the phone. If anyone must order take-out from Seoul Garden, I suggest that each person order his/her own meal so that he/she will not be shortchanged on the side dishes. Each order has its own allowance of 3 side dishes. Five different orders would earn you 15 side dishes if you place the five dishes on five different orders. If you order all five dishes on one order, you will get only 3 side dishes. Good luck in sharing these 3 small side dishes with the rest of the folks in your dining group. Such a stupid “rule!”More
