Friendly staff greeted us and sat us (family of 4) down promptly around 8:30pm on a Saturday. Our waiter, who's name escapes me, was genuinely very friendly and eager to please. My young boys were tired so we did not linger too long afterwards, but our adjacent table did. They were celebrating a birthday with their multi-generational family/friends. Good Times... More

Loved the Original SP, did not like the next owners, but Nolan's was not as bad and was pretty good. The old SP won't be back, but the location is great, the lobster is lobster and good for the price. Also had the haddock and that was great. The veggies were a little oily and should have been steamed. The... More

We went with friends from the area who warned us the place (now called Nolan's) was abysmal, based upon a prior visit. We took them to dinner there and took a flyer and found it good. We had dined many times at the old Sandy Point, and, sorry folks, those days are gone, get used to it. The staff were... More

We did our annual visit to this restaurant like we have done for the last 20 years. Now the new ownership is more Italian and that maybe great but we always have the 2 lb stuffed lobster. The prices were about the same but my lobster was much smaller ( I would question whether it was 2lbs ) . The... More

An American icon for great food is gone and replaced with mediocrity. For 25 years Sandy Point restaurant was a destination and a must stop during our annual family reunions on Governors Island. We considered SP as our happy place for feasting, so much so that our children when of age used to drive all the way from Montreal and... More

For many years this was our go to restaurant for boiled lobster. It was the best. In 2014 it changed hands and they still did lobster well. They were pleasant and we still went. But this year it became Nolans. They said they only did stuffed lobster which is awful to me. Just a lot of bread crumbs. We asked... More

If you are expecting the old Sandy Point, you will be disappointed. If you are expecting very good Italian food, like Nolans in Wolfeboro NH, you will be very happy. The service was good and the portions were large. I had the veal saltimbocca over vermicelli which was excellent. The eggplant was good. We plan on going back soon.

We went on the first weekend they were open (they had been open all week). Service was ok at the beginning but got worse as the night went on. And it was a long night; it took 2 hours to get our meal. The food was just ok. The melted butter for steamers and lobster tasted funny. Maybe they don't... More

This legacy restaurant in Good Old Alton Bay was opened this Spring under new management, as a second location of a popular Wolfeboro eatery. Hard to fill big (old) shoes and translate an approach that has worked up the road apiece in Wolfeboro. But this diner thinks they have done it. The welcome and the service are excellent. Pacing is... More

We were disappointed with the new restaurant. All the seafood dishes were listed at MP, which I think is annoying to have to ask....just set your prices and deal with it. No rolls and butter were served while you waited for your dinner...was told we could order an app of bread. My wife ordered a baked potato and asked for... More
