I had a wonderful lunch at Sala Bai, where I also stayed at the hotel. Great food with a French twist and excellent service by the restaurant students. Highly recommended!

Except for the meat (not a big fan, but wasn't bad, just not what we're used to as European) it was delicious and the staff has been very nice all the time! Great and to recommend !

Great lunch in very nice restaurant. Served by one of the students. He was a little nervous but very happy smile. Chilled bottle of white for only $15. Excellent 3 course set lunch. Very happy to recommend. Quiet spot away from the hustle of pub street.

Really interesting menu with a range of Asian and European influenced dishes. John Dory marinated raw fish starter on the a la carte menu was excellent. The serving staff (trainees) are a little shy, but it's part of the charm. They only open for lunch 12- 2 but well worth a visit if you get the chance.

A training school mainly for girls which is open for breakfast & lunch. We dropped by for a quick lunch and were warmly welcomed. Smallish menu but just enough options for us – unfortunately my wife's first choice (the club sandwich) was off the menu so she went for a tomato salsa which she enjoyed. My wanton salad was impressive-... More

Lovely restaurant, white table cloths and serviettes. Silver service. Very peaceful amid the chaos of siem reap. The meals were beautifully presented and the price very reasonable. Plus the fact you are helping train young people to enable them to obtain gainful employment. A nice change from pub street.

We visited Sala Bai for lunch and toured the facilities - lunch was fantastic, but the work they are doing there is even more impressive! Be sure to check out the hotel rooms - they looked very comfortable, and are brand new. Well done to all concerned with the move !

Sala Bai is an absolute must visit in SR. The food is excellent and so is the service from the students, who are from disadvantaged areas all over Cambodia that go through an 11 month program to learn the hospitality trade as waiters, chefs etc. They have a setup with many 4-5 star hotels where the students then apply for... Cambodia has issues — one way to deal with those issues is education. Sala Bai does that by doing amazing things with kids from families earning less than $300/year!!! And it turns them into Hospitality superstars. Just a brilliant place to visit.

Description
Sala Baï Hotel & Restaurant School was founded in 2002 by the French NGO Agir pour le Cambodge. The school entirely and exclusively meant for young Cambodians coming from underprivileged families. In 2015, more than 1300 young Cambodians, with a 70% priority to girls, have been trained. They have all found a job within 1 month after their one-year training. A few years later, their average salary goes from $250 to $350 which enables them to reach the emerging Cambodian middle-class. The vocational training taught at Sala Baï is definitely the fastest and most efficient way of fighting poverty and human trafficking. But without your support, nothing would be possible. By coming to our training restaurant, you already make a great difference, with the pleasure to enjoy high-quality food.
