We were told that this was a good place to have Squirrel Fish. I had no idea what this was, but definitely wanted to try it. We had no guide, so we just went with the flow, pointed at pictures of the foods we wanted to try and had a great meal. The whole Squirrel Fish reminded me of sweet... More

We came for the squirrel fish and it did not disappoint! I would go back just for this. The best I've had. However, the rest was very good as well. The tofu wrapped escargot meatballs were fantastic as well. it says it closes at 2pm but they stayed open for our group to have lunch and I appreciate that. One... More

We are invited to dine here by friends. First time to taste Suzhou cuisine and find that their cooking tastes are on the sweet side nevertheless very interesting. Most of the dishes are signature dishes from this restaurant. This was a unique, delicious and generous dinner we ever had in Suzhou.

We were impressed by the modern and clean interior design of the restaurant. We ordered their famous fish which was cooked ok but the sauce was sweet and sour like that of some Chinese amercian restaurant in the states. The pork meat was not tender and dry. The sauce was also a bland sweet sauce, similar to some sauce you'd... More

We ordered two dishes from their so-called famous dishes, but the fish and shrimp were disappointing. I had had the same dish from De Yue Lou (Jinji Lake) before that I'd say was better than the one I had in Song He Lou (Quanqian). However, the vegetable and rice dishes were surprisingly good. So from my personal opinion, their famous... More

Every table had this fish dish on it. (As you can see from the reviews, they are famous for it). It was delicious. Even my highly skeptical 11-year old loved it. The restaurant is tough to find if you don't speak Chinese (2nd floor location on a pedestrian-only area, so taxi can get you close). But we asked around and... More

This is the most famous restaurant in Suzhou. There was even a movie about it over 30 years ago. All Chinese over 50 years old know this restaurant. However over the years, the service and quality had dramatically gone down, even with the best location in the whole city. Avoid it if you are looking for a good food, but... More
