I recently took my visiting family to Bistronomy in Suzhou, all buoyed up and inspired by a previous experience there. The last time I had piled in with my friends, all lured as we were by an advert declaring a 'French Film Night'. Even though this turned out to be nothing more than a small television perched on the bar, the... More

We came across Bistronomy while exploring the neighborhood near our hotel (Garden Hotel Suzhou, a very nice hotel). We were first surprised to find a French restaurant in the local neighborhood and then pleasantly surprised to be warmly greeted by the owner upon entering. The food was excellently presented and tasty, the best western meal we had in our three... More

In all this place gave us a positive surprise. Foie gras was quite good, the tuna creative but the side dish potato edges were not selfmade, cheese fondue not too bad...too much kitchen smell all over the restaurant...anyhow In all, worth a visit.

I went there because some friends convinced me the food were all great. May be not on the level of "amazing", but i wud say it's simply awesome. I ordered half-roasted chicken and the meat was very tender. Never had that good quality of chicken before in any other western restaurant in Suzhou. The Beef and braised Lamb i ordered... More

Has one of the best quality western foods I had in China. Steak is amazing the soups and starters are great. Thank god for this restaurant, it makes my work trips to Suzhou worthwhile. Oh, I forgot to mention great staff and owners.

Had new years dinner as a couple and I have to say I was impressed. Being from Canada, and living in Suzhou for the past 4 months, I was reminded of how western cuisine treats its patrons. It was very refreshing to walk into the restaurant and be greeted properly. The staff and owner are extremely attentive and the atmosphere... More

Great food and nice atmosphere. Plus an outdoor terrace which would be very cool to throw parties in warmer season. A quick getaway from the buzz of China. For world peace, chef!!! :)

Some friends recommended this place since the cuisine has changed few months ago ( they have a new chef from France) and I was not disapointed. The food is fresh and tasty, good service and the place is comfortable. This is worth to go out a bit of SIP and try, really nice.

I went there with a French visiting colleague and (I believe due to the French to French connection) we received great attentive service directly from the French owner/manager. I had a tasty well prepared tuna mousse and then snapper over ratatouille, along with sharing 2 bottles of a very nice French wine with my colleague. Anyone in Suzhou needing a... More

I've been to this restaurant under the old name (La Casa Vostra) and now with the new owner. We really liked the Italian cuisine, and now the French style is just as good, although it is a bit rich! We haven't experienced any problems with the service and two of the same waiters are still there from the old guard,... More
