( La Galera Restaurant ) , is a little place near The Plaza de Santo Domingo located at the center of the walled city . The decor is pirate themed , very appropriate to the spirit and history of this city in the Caribbean Sea . The service attentive and efficient ,was flawless , supervised by the owner a gentleman... We stopped into La Galera for dinner. It was quiet and cozy. Service was good, and the food was quite delicious. The restaurant has a bit of a pirate theme, which we found a bit cheesy but also charming. La Galera wasn't the best place we ate in Cartagena, but the food really was very good, as was the service,... More

I went for dinner at La Galera with friends. This place is beautiful and the waiter is dressed as in the old times. The entree was delicious, beautifully served. The dessert was yummy. There is a guy playing the guitar and he played some songs that we asked.

I had a bad experience at this restaurant; both the appetizer and entree were dry and salty. The fish that I had seemed thawed and chewy, this is a sea port where you are supposed to get fresh fish. Service was good but for the quality, expensive.

Very nice restaurant in the Old City of cartagena. We have eaten here several times. The paella is very good and don't worry about the wine, they have a nice selection.

We found this restaurant, just off of Plaza Santo Domingo, just by walking by. It has a tapas menu and a large plate menu. We started off with some tapas as appetizers; highly reccommend the stuffed mushrooms (champiñones rellenados). We also got red snapper (pargo rojo) skewers, which had a good sauce but the fish was dry and over cooked.... More

Food of this quality, prepared with real flair and imagination, is rarely cheap in Cartagena - this delightful restaurant is the exception. From the moment you enter and complimentary pesto breads arrive at the table to the very last sip of superb espresso coffee, you know that you are in safe hands. We had three meals over a six week... This is a cozy little restaurant, with a great atmosphere (live band). We went without a booking, and although they did not have a table big enough at the time to seat our party of 6, they went about pushing tables together to seat us. The menu has a varied enough selection and was not overly pricey. I ordered the... More
