We were looking for a nice quite place to relax and we found it at Chef Julian, the tapas we had and the paella were excellent. Service was very nice, i would not had expected anything less. Prices were very reasonable. I would recomend this restaurant to everybody and I will be eating there again. It would had been better... More

Very good food and top notch service abound in this nice, quiet, higher-end dining option in new town Cartagena. Felt like it was worlds away from the casual, noisy beach scene of the area. Very flavorful spanish preparations, including suckling pig. Portions are large and usually result in some take home. Make sure to try the sangria.

The appetizers were great, the white asparagus and the octopus. The paella was good but not notable. Service was above average.

Grilled shellfish delicious. Paella very tasty. Large portions: we ordered too much. Sangria yummy. Attentive service. Will return.

I am a paella lover and I was expecting to share a nice one with some colleagues, however it was not that good as expected according to the good will of this restaurant. The paella is too much grease and with too few sea food in it. Segovian Lamb and lamb chops more o less saved the night. There are... More

We were 3 and ordered about 6 imported (Peroni) beers. The most greasy, unhealthy and delicious "Callos a la Madrilena" and a Paella "Chef Julian" (this one has seafood, chicken and sausages) all for approx $85. The waiter was both professional and efficient. Cannot complain about a single thing in this restaurant. Do recommend and will return. It beats most... More

I went on the recommendation of my hotel owner. The decor is traditional and the tables are nicely set with white table clothes (a little fancier than most restaurants I visited) The server was very friendly and helpful. I had not budgeted enough (put enough cash in my wallet) to afford the paella, so he recommended a good chicken dish.... More

After struggling with getting a taxi, we walked the 5 minutes to Chef Julian and weren't disappointed! We hadn't been there in almost a year, it was as good if not better as we had remembered it. The mixed salad with tuna is absolutely lovely, we shared paella Chef Julian, which combines seafood, fish, chicken and pork. Absolutely delicious! We... More

Very traditional restaurant, great service, very friendly and efficient waiter! We ordered a spanish rice for one, the rice though serves 2, a chicken with sausage and bacon sauce, spanish tortillas for starter and sangria. Great flavours, very generous portions. Cozy environment!
