I always heard of this restaurant and my son picked it out for his birthday. I can’t speak for him, his girlfriend and his brother, but me and my wife was unimpressed. First the waiter was excellent and we were able to sit outside and...there was a view of the small lake. But now let me talk about my meal. I had an appetizer which was a pizza with olives, capers, tomatoes, mozzarella and provolone. Well number 1, there was no cheese at all. No mozzarella or provolone. Number 2, I did not expect a 16 or 14 inch pie. Not even a 12 inch pie. But come on now. The size of the pizza had to be just a slighter bigger than a tea dish. One of those small dishes. My eyes rolled in my head. This was $15.95. For my main course I want the linguini and clams with shrimp. So I asked the waiter if the sauce included small cut up clams. He stated no. But I still ordered it. Well the dish came, and there was a total of five shrimps. Now they weren’t jumbo or even large shrimp. They looked like medium size. And the clams were so tiny, it was embarrassing. And they gave you only 4. And one of them had all black garbage in it like they never cleaned it. How could they. They were so tiny. Oh and this dish was $29. And the sauce was good, not great, as was the pasta. And not a great abundance of pasta. Look I’m Italian, this meal did not cost that much. I don’t mind paying, but feed me. My wife got a dozen small clams with a side of risotto. My sons both got the lamb chops which was $36. And these weren’t big lamb chops. Just put it this way, no dogie bags were needed. My sons girlfriend got the Tuna. We had one cheese fondue appetizer with two small soups which were $6.00 each. And one small glass of wine. We had no desert and the bill with tip was $305. Last year we went to Flames Barbecue in Belmar and for the exact same cost I ate like a king. They didn’t stop serving every kind of meat until I was ready to explode. That was worth every cent. I understand a restaurant charges a lot when you have a beautiful ocean front view. Well this restaurant did not have that. To conclude, I dined at an ocean from restaurant in Point Pleasant, where I could of walked right onto the beach, and I got a similar meal which was about the same price, but the dish and food was way more plentiful and delicious. So, for me this was not what or my wife was expecting, and we will never again eat here. Way too much hype.More

First visit - 3 couples on a July Friday night - put our name on the list and waited about 30 minutes at the bar and enjoyed a drink from a friendly bartender - sat upstairs in a half circle banquette - roomy and comfortable...- and the best part was our server Stan! Stan’s been there for 19 years and he’s the best. Food was excellent. I had the shrimp and scallops risotto and it was very good. Friend had seared tuna and the serving was huge. Very nice atmosphere. Very enjoyable dinner. The third floor dining room isn’t open yet - just getting restarted after the pandemic.More

I had the Moonstruck drink. My sister has a margarita. Both drinks were very good. I had the special, the rigatoni, my sister had clams and Cesar salad. We both enjoyed our meal very much. The flavor was on point. The service was top notch.

Reccomended by a friend who nailed it. Always wanted to try it and got in this Thursday for our family of six. They have a great atmosphere, food and service. We had Bistro Pizza, Kennedys, rack of Lamb, Chicken Milanese, Rigatoni Special and Shrimp and...Scallops over Rissoto all were delicious. I would highly recommend. Try the Key Lime Pie and Black and White Creme Brulee with and Expresso Martini.More

Food was good. Portions could’ve been a bit bigger and I didn’t like the celery in the rice. My daughter loved her salad. Bread was good. Waiter was quirky. Nice guy but I like my personal space and not the quickest. We saw my husbands...drink sitting at the bar, ice melting away, for quite a while before we got it. He had the short rib Wellington and thought it tasted like his grandmothers brisket so he liked that.More

We wanted to get to this restaurant early, because they do not take reservations. I believe that one of the owners greeted us as we walked in and we were immediately taken to the second floor porch/veranda. We gave our drink orders and appetizer of...baked brie. The food here is traditional, but really good. For our main course dinners we had shrimp and scallop with pea and asparagus risotto, and fish stew. Everything was tasty and wonderfully prepared. We shared a key lime coconut pie dessert. We loved every minute at this restaurant and the service was beyond top notch. If you eat here ask for Samantha. I understand that all of the servers are wonderful, but Samantha was exceptional. We can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We ares so happy that Moonstruck decided reopen after COVID.More

I have been enjoying Moonstruck for many years, ever since they started out in Ocean Grove. I am in the restaurant business and so appreciate it when an establishment hits every point. The ambiance, the service and most importantly, the food. It really is all...about the food, isn't it? The attention to detail, the freshness, the combination of flavors, the creative dishes...always spot-on. Howard, Luke and their dedicated staff create an experience that is indicative of what dining out should be. My family, friends and I have never had a bad meal or spotty service. I really cannot say what my favorite dish is, because I have enjoyed everything on the menu. It's a cozy atmosphere, where you feel comfortable and relaxed, while savoring every bite. We have ordered to-go, since the pandemic, and the quality has not changed. Even take-out meals have been delicious. Undoubtedly, the best restaurant around.More

I am a picky eater, so I ordered the herb-roasted chicken served with potatoes and veggies.Mouth-watering! Parmesan-garlic sauce lightly coated the plate. My partner convinced me to try his brown sugar, chili-rubbed salmon which he said was the best. It was so tasty that I ate...more than one bite. He said the chicken was so tender and delicious that he would order that next time even though he loves all seafood.Friendly staff.chef came out to chat with us.Toasted coconut bread pudding was amazing! We only stayed a weekend, but ate dinner here both nights even though we had a dozen different places we had researched prior.More

We love going to Moonstruck. I can be both a romantic evening for just me and my wife or a great family or friends outing. In fact I've even gone there by myself and sat on the upstairs balcony with a view of the ocean....The food is always very good and have never had an issue with the service. The only negative is that they do not take reservation unless it is a large party, and in the summer the wait can be a bit long. But definitely worth it! Pretty good wine list and a great bar that always has a unique specialty cocktail. If you're in Asbury Park for a stay, or even if you are a short drive away, you should check out Moonstruck.More

We were there on a Sunday night and there was live music. I’m told there often is. How about calling the restaurant to check on if there’s live music every night.
