From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like royalty.
The lovely staff gives you a walk around the 1920’s themed restaurant and explains the concept behind the restaurant and the kitchen.
It was like to walk into a grand ballroom. Absolutely incredible. I personally love this great era and it was beyond words. We even took photos of the bathroom, it was that good. The paintings, the peacock feathers, the tiles, and chandelier were magnificent.
We were escorted to the kitchen counter where we received our first treat from the head chef, who also explained the zero waste policy of the restaurant. Than we got seated at our table where we got our first cocktail, which was made beside our table. My friends and me went for the full 10 course meal with wine pairings. We left completely and utterly full. The quality of the food was beyond words, with every bite of every plate a gastronomical experience. We were blown away from each dish. My personal favourite was the "cheese" cake, while my friends loved the cauliflower and scallop, but we all agreed that the venison wellington was a winner. Wine pairings were on point with each meal.
This restaurant is certainly a unique one, and all of us were taking photos and enjoying this experience. You will be paying for it, but for those that want an experience beyond, or deem yourself a foodie, look no further.
Once again thank you to attentive wait staff and chefs. We look forward to returning soon. Best restaurant we visited!

This was the best dining experience I have had in my life. The staff who waited us was so sweet and took such great care of us, we got to meet the Chefs, the food and cocktails were mind-blowing! We travelled down the Chef’s memory lane as a child and one of the tasters we had was the batter from a dessert we were given later, that we got to eat with purposely made spatulas! It was a mixture of elegant, comforting and fun! Not the usually snobbish degustation experience. Elegant and tasteful, as was the beautiful place. I wish we could do it all again! A special thanks to Yuna (sorry if I misspelled the name!) who took very special care of us. Honestly, everything was absolutely PERFECT. ❤️😍

My girlfriend and I visited this absolutely beautiful restaurant during our stay at the Viceroy. I must say, the service is top notch. The staff really takes pride in what they do and the head chef - Nic - is right there to greet you in the kitchen upon arrival, adding to the entire dinner experience. If you are looking for a fine dining experience in Ubud, it is a cant miss!

I came here because they're having the 50% off for the month of August. Being a commoner like me, I thought this is my one chance to try fine dining. The experience exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The service is impeccable, the food & drink are beyond words, the presentation, mannerism, decor, thoughts, and intentions are genuine and beautifully executed. I simply can't praise this restaurant enough, I applaud all their hard works and sincerely in making their guests feel like they're royalty. They took care of me for the whole evening, it's an experience of a lifetime and I absolutely love it. I ended up having an upgrade menu and add additional cocktail, but it's worth every penny. If you're looking for an amazing fine dining experience, don't go anywhere else! Just come here and you'll understand why. Also, a huge shout out to my waitress her name is Mary, you're the most delicate and poised human being I've ever encountered. Thank you for making my evening special! Cheers, Sten.

We had a very disappointing experience for lunch at this restaurant. We were excited for the food to come but when we saw only one plate being delivered, we were confused. We were never told that my husband and I would be sharing a plate for each food item. So, instead of having individual plating, each food menu item was on one plate for 2 people to share. This definitely gave me the impression I was eating at a chinese restaurant instead of having a fine dining experience for our lunch.

Thank you for your review and rating of Apéritif. The selection of food is of the highest quality produce however we wanted to make our Sunday Lunch slightly less formal than our fine-dining degustations, hence the sharing dishes (which is mentioned in our marketing material) and also the lower price. With dishes such as a whole fish, it is preferable to serve as a sharing plate.

The dinner experience that I had with my friend (Dave) in Aperitif was exquisite to the the least! From the first moment you stepped inside the door you can the feel the relaxed atmosphere and was greeted by friendly staffs. We were also warmly welcomed by Patrick, Leo, and Amanda to have drinks at the vintage interior design with the balcony of a beautiful rice field view.
We were lucky enough to be there during the special event Food Without Borders in collaboration with Chef Agung Gede from KayuPuti restaurant, with an 8 course meal and few additions of surprised meals. The food itself was breathtaking, everything was well thought and the the presentations was superb. My personal favorite was the Sword Fish and sambel ulek and the desserts, who can resist such a cute and delicious petit fours! Thank you for Chef Nic Vanderbeeken for the wonderful menus and Chef Vincent Stopin for the dessert
Lastly, I told my housemate about the whole amazing experience and we can't wait to come again as soon as Aperitif have another collaboration. Thank you for the experience Aperitif!

when Aperitif announce they re-open, i right away book a table, and it’s completely a right decision. experience start in the dining room with Aperitif cocktail trolley with selections of handcrafted cocktails&mocktails. i choose 8course degustation and my fav was the venison wellington with the rendang sauce, for me was the highlight of the 8course, when i thought we ar done, the service staff took me to the bar for extra ordinary dessert in form of Cigar accompanied with complimentary pairing mocktail too. it was such a great experience and definitely worth the wait, it’s not just a fine dining, it’s a whole experience.

If you’ve never experienced fine dining before, Aperitif is a good way to dip your feet in without breaking the wallet. My wife and I both ordered their Signature menu and we added Canadian lobster. Everything we ate exceeded our expectations. Even when the dish sounded simple on the menu, the way the dish was creatively made changed the entire eating experience. They had a bartender that would wheel a cart around to make your drink right in front of you. The waiters and waitresses were all very attentive to our needs. They replaced our silverware between every course. The food was a mix between Asian and European and I’d highly recommend eating here for a special occasion or just eating here if you can afford it. We’d definitely come back here again to try their more expensive Prestige menu the next time we’re back in Bali.

Everything in this restaurant is tailored to suit your likings, and I was particularly amazed when they also offered me a tray of steak knives to choose.
Food is unquestionably delicious and beautifully prepared. This restaurant still follows some old school practice whereby they have apéritif, bread and dessert trolley. Amazing presentation from the beginning till the end. Extensive wine collection.

This was our second visit to Aperitif and again they did not fail to impress. This time we attended one of their special events but we had equally great service, food, wine and cocktails. The decor and location make the meal even more memorable.
My husband is allergic to poultry and they have changed the menu for us to cater for this, with equally lovely dishes. We don't generally stay in the Ubud area but happy to travel there just to visit Aperitif. Another great day! Thank you.

A fine dining that is more than fine!
We want to try a special meal during our visit to Ubud. Aperitif is our choice because Mozaic was not open during our visit :(
Well. This is our review!
The Journey:
We took a grab car when visiting this restaurant. Apparently, they have a huge area for parking and they are nestled in a quite part of Ubud. Very nice
The Place:
This restaurant is part of Viceroy Hotel in Ubud, Bali. It is chic, classy, yet modern. It is large and inspired a lot by French cuisine. Well, like we are in Europe 😀
The Food:
They offer two types, Signature Menu and Prestige Menu. Well, they are quite pricey, but we think the quality of the food justify the price tag.
They allow guests to choose different menu on the same table, so we both pick a different menu: one Signature, and one Prestige.
If you appreciate meat, go with Prestige.
If you more like a seafood person, Signature is great!
Both offer a different route in fine dining experience with 7-course dishes.
The most memorable dish we had during our dinner is Dutch Veil (prestige menu) and Opu Fish (signature menu). We really like their taste and they pair well with the carbohydrite. Really WELL DONE!

Bram Lightbourne, Mary Lee and I just had the most exquisite meal at Aperitif, at the Viceroy hotel. We were celebrating the completion of our Villa project that has taken eight months to complete. We are having an open house on Saturday from 11 to 4 so if you would like to see what we have created please come❣️ (Message me for details.)
I would have to say it was the best meal I’ve had in Bali. Every single offering on their 6-course Lunch Degustation menu was mind-blowing in its presentation, subtlety of perfectly blended flavors, and surprising juxtapositions of ingredients. The service was wonderful as well and the staff explained every dish and drink in glorious detail! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to an amazing experience and eating the next time you want to truly celebrate something❣️

Started out with aperols at the bar ( their cocktails are gorgeously well balanced and tasty kudos to their mixologist ) and headed out to the main dining area for dinner and we were greeted by Santi our waitress who was superbly attentive & friendly.
We chose the 8 course degustation menu and ended up order another 2 additional menu ( homemade pasta & A5 kagoshima was fantastic) . Food was overall stunning & despite half their staff was in sby for a restaurant takeover , the chefs in-house did not disappoint! Great job to everyone in the kitchen shelling out stunning food.
Attentive service & gorgeous meal. Would come back in a heartbeat.

This is my first fine dining experience, and Apéritif gave me the best experience I have never had before.
You can feel the warmth from the entrance as the friendly staff greets you with covid-19 protocol and directs you to the Bar.
The bar is very nice with a large selection of mocktails and cocktails. The mocktail I had "1920s Celebrity" was amazing.
I chose a Vegetarian set menu. All the food was great but I think "Mushroom Forest" is my favorite. Dinner ends with Milk and Honey, an unforgettable dessert. The flavors of buttermilk, yogurt and white chocolate go together perfectly.
FANTASTIC is the only word to express what I saw, what I felt and what I taste at the Apéritif Restaurant. The architecture, ambiance, food, staff are the best I have ever had.
Everyone is very nice and just wants to make sure you enjoy your dinner. Thank you to all the staff, Panji, Yudi and Amanda for your great hospitality.
