Please do yourself favor and eat home! You can buy the same crab cakes at BJ's ! Steak was generic and well done , sent it back and came back rare when I asked for medium! Sorry to say, but time to shut the doors.

I treated a friend to dinner here before a concert, and the meal was excellent. We required wheelchair accessible seating, which severely limited the choices in downtown Albany. We were greeted at the door with assistance navigating the double entry doors with the wheelchair, and were seated in a convenient spot where we didn't feel we were obstructing other guests... More

Went back to Jack's for restaurant week and had another great experience. Wait staff are professional and attentive. Meal presentation is delightful. Food is always very good or excellent, with regular items that are always satisfying. Only trouble is deciding what appetizer or entree to order because you have several good choices.

Went here to celebrate a swearing in as an attorney. Service was immaculate as were their crabcakes. 5 people including tip came to about $150. Reasonable for lunch

I visited Jack's for the first time last week with colleagues for a business dinner. I'm from out of town and the locals highly recommended dinner at Jack's. It did not disappoint! Service was attentive and pleasant, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very classy/vintage. It felt very authentic to its 100 year history. The fish special, crab cakes,... More

This is always our go to place for special occasions for 30 years. From entering the door you are greeted warmly. Staff / service is like no other here, polite, attentive, accommodating. Every person is made to feel special and appreciated during your visit. This classy restaurant has been open since 1913 and is now under the direction of Jack's... More

For a higher priced restaurant, we were not impressed with our service or meals. The Jack's Reserve Chardonnay from Napa Valley was the highlight of the evening. The greens in our salads were not worth eating. Both of our stuffed lobster tails were dried out & rubbery.

We were thrilled to find such a top-rated restaurant just a half-block from our hotel. We were in Albany for a Friday night concert at Times Union Center, and were very glad that we had thought ahead to make a dinner reservation for 4:45 pm on concert night. The place became packed with other concert-goers shortly after we arrived, but... More

Good food yet pricey. Very attentive waitstaff. Sat in front of a warm welcoming fireplace on a cold blustery day. Annoying to have to pay for parking on street during day. The owner came to our table to ask how our meals were. That rarely happens in most other establishments! The building, decor, and service are from a bygone era... More

Sat at the small bar and ordered crab cakes w/slaw (you get 2 fairly sized cakes) and very thin crust small pizza. Both delicious! The pizza was made with fresh grape tomatoes and basil (& cheese of course) and the crab cakes were plump and crispy. As a person who really doesn't like fishy tasting fish, these were not fishy....
