The food was of poor quality, the imported beef should not look like this, all cut up to mask any inperfecitons in the beef. Probably Thai beef as it was tighter than my shoe sole. Max If you wanna screw over your fellow Dutch customers...like this I have only one thing to say: we will not be back. On a side note, the Guiness draught was perfecly poured by a friendly Thai guy with a lot of knowledge. The waitresses were friendly. That's why 2 stars, the food would not even get 1 star in my book.More

I've been in Udon Thani and the Brick House was the first place I ate after I learned a bit more about the area around the Centara Hotel. My preferences were the chicken steak, with salad and mashed potatoes or the chicken burger. I was...never disappointed with the food and was always greeted nicely by the friendly staff.More

This time tried a T-bone. A thin piece of grisl. Ordered medium - rare. Seared on one side and raw on the other. Wife ordered Tom yum. The accompanying rice was riddled with the cooks hair. Tried nachos too. An interesting combination or taco seasoned...meat and unseasoned meat. Something that I am guessing was somebody's idea of chili concarne. The tortilla chips were soggy from the grease on the plate. We're giving up on this place.More

A poor expensive lunch. The appetizer was good although the smoked salmon was very sparse. The prawn cocktail was very good , but the French onion soup was lacking i flavor. Plenty of onion but the liquid was tasteless. . Main course salmon was good...as was the Turkey. Vegetables were much harder than ‘ Al dente’ and in particular, the potatoes both roast and boiled were well undercooked- such that they were largely inedible. The gravy was abysmal, cold, thin and a complete absence of taste. The cheesecake was very good as was the Christmas pudding. The accompanying custard (was it supposed to be custard?) ) was little more than very slightly off colored milk. No one to complain to as the boss was absent! Very disappointing.More

Had a great burger for dinner last night😍. Why then only an average review, also had a cocktail. The booze was so weak that I wasn’t sure that it was a Shirley Temple. (A non alcoholic drink). Go for the food, skip the drinks

I have now had a few breakfasts here. Can't fault it in any respect. Good quality probably better English Breakfast than in most places in England.

I used to review a lot of places however I stopped a few years ago more or less after retiring to Thailand I just felt I had to review this place because it would be a warning to others to avoid. The place is a...restaurant and bar and sitting outside is quite pleasant watching the street life go by. Menus were on the table within seconds of sitting down, the staff seemed to be service orientated, drinks followed quickly. A western menu is also supported by Thai. A nice variety on the menu, with Thai and NZ steaks. I ordered a T-bone and was duly asked how I wanted it cooked and responded medium with a complement vegetables. The steak was on a plate in front of me very quickly. Steak knives were supplied and I attempted to cut off a pice, there was no way my knife could cut through. On success of finally cutting of a piece I looked at this dismal bit of meat to see it was quire shrunken and very well done, it was a mouth ache to chew. Numerous attempts to cut more were met with a resistance similar to cutting through crocodile hide. This was no way a NZ steak, I am sure it was precooked and reheated nowhere as thick as a 450 gram steak should be. My friend ordered a 200gram steak which could have served as a cricket ball, he had similar problems getting a knife to slice off a section. I have eaten a few average steaks in my life but this clearly won the award by a country mile at 720baht I thought I might be getting something special, it certainly was very special and unique.More

On my trip through Thailand I've come across the Brick House Inn in Udon Thani. A nice laid back town in Issaan with an international airport. I've had several meals and drinks here and enjoyed everyone of them. Off course, like everywhere, we always see...room for improvement but that's from our perspective and according to our state of mind that day. I've run through the comment section of the Brick House Inn and as somebody who has worked over 30 years in the hospitality business in several countries, I must admit I'm surprised. The Brick House Inn is a venue with a lot of ambiance. The place looks good and is clean. The food is great and not expensive. Portions are big on average. Considering most of the food and drinks are flown in from other countries, I consider the prices very reasonable. The staff of this place are nice and friendly. They are being as helpfull as possible considering the language barrier. Many thai staff do speak some english but keep in mind that your accent, and we take that for granted, might be a small issue in their understanding. Service time is reasonable. We're not in our hometowns where we only have only 45 minutes to eat. In Thailand, especially outside of tourist regions, don't expect your food to come 5 minutes after ordering it. It takes time to prepare a good meal. Especially when 6 people take 6 different plates. In hospitality venues the owners make the place according to preferences. 100 restaurants and not one is the same as the other. Off course any individual has their own preferences, the Brick House Inn, the owners and their staff try to make your stay as agreeing as possible. Myself, when I go to a new area in the world, I always look at several places before writing a comment. It situates the place as compared to what else there is in the neighbourhood. You can't compare Udon to Paris for exemple. Anyways, I was really satisfied on most points that are important to me. Brick House Inn is a place I recommend.More
