This was our favourite tea shop in Hoi An. The silence is a welcome break from the hustle and bustle on the street and the quaint yet vibrant interior makes you feel at home. The only thing that ruined it was the customer who didn't abide by the whispering request. The tea and biscuits are also delicious! Try the 3... More

The tea sampler is indeed the best way o experience all the flavour and atoms of out fine teas. Sorry that your tranquility was interrupted but some customers find it difficult to relax into the silence. Glad to hear though that the Reaching Out Tea House was your favourite in Hoi An. Thanks!! Lovely quiet and relaxing place and all for a good cause. The food and drinks are nice but it's the people that make it special.

I didn't know of this lovely spot until today and what a wonderful find. A dedicated 'quiet' place so a great place for a few quiet moments amidst a hectic neighbourhood. The coffee was fantastic and the biscuit I chose was delicious. I LOVED the coffee percolator and accessories!!

Go in, whisper and enjoy the beauty of silence. The teas are very good and also the different cookies. It's a non-profit organisation and worth every dong!

Our holiday was enriched with several visits to the Reaching Out Tea House. The quiet atmosphere is in contrast to the bustle and noise of the streets in Ancient Town. The wait staff are hearing impaired using signing and messages which are at each table. They provide friendly and efficient service. The table settings are lovely and use dishes, cups etc... More

This is a nice Tea House with great biscuits, tea is ok, not sure if brewed correctly as they were on the bitter side, but this is a resting place in busy Hoian.

Excellent drinks and small treats, a calm place in the middle of the busy old town in Hoi An. Just remember that this is a silent café - no talking! You check of your order on a sheet of paper and the waitresses communicates by using signs.

Situated in the middle of the tourist center of Hoi An, this cafe is quiet with character and good views of the people walking by. The wait staff are deaf and quiet voices are encouraged to maintain the calm atmosphere. The tea and coffee are both done with attention to taste and display. I sat here several times reading and... Description
The Reaching Out Teahouse, a second location for our social enterprise, was created because we wanted to share authentic Hoi An (which means peaceful meeting) through the tradition of drinking tea and coffee with friends and visitors. Tranquility is assured in our ancient house furnished with antiques. Our servers are all speech and hearing impaired and the joy of silence is reflected throughout the experience. Customers enjoy the high quality of our teas and coffees as well as the gracious service. All of our tableware is hand crafted in the style of the imperial families of Hue and is available at our workshop and retail store a two-minute walk from the teahouse. In addition to ceramics, we feature embroidered tablecloths and unique accessories. Fair trade operating principles ensure that our disabled artisans and servers receive fair wages and work under safe conditions. We invite you to experience our teahouse and to let us know about your experience. We learn to make improvements to our products and services through customer feedback and good reports encourage others to find their way to our shop to enjoy the silence.
