Tried both the Otaru and the New Chitose Airport branches and both are of the same consistent high quality dessert cheesecakes that are simply melt in your mouth and heavenly paired with their brewed coffee. The crispy biscuits are simply amazing and if I have only have room in my luggage, I would have packed some more.

Tried the original and chocolate cheesecake and they were both amazing. Not too sweet and good for sharing.

Tried the choc cheese slice and cheese slice cake. Both were smooth and creamy. The cakes must be kept in fridge and consumed cold, or the cheese would end up wobbly and fall over. White choc berry snack was yums too- ¥160 each piece. Located just opposite the train station and along the shopping street leading to the musical box... More

The Japanese have taken to Western deserts in a big way. I had Cinnamon toast....bread,crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside , topped with a dried fruit topping( think soaked fruitcake fruit) topped with a scoop of ice cream and meringue and cinnamon sugar. Coffee was also good. Even though it was very busy the service was... More

Dropped by on my second trip here as to not to miss the best double frommage cheesecake!! Ordered a tea time set that comes with cheesecake and coffee, and added on other desserts. Perfect place to eat, chit chat and idle your time away in Otaru

Their Double Fromage Cheesecake is a must try when visited Otaru or Sapporo. The egg tart & cream sandwich is also nice

Food was great and view from the observation deck was marvellous. Had a blast with the family. We would definitely go there again.

Le Tao Honten is famous for being one of Otaru's original sweets shops there are branches everywhere now but their sweets still taste good!

Prior to my Hokkaido trip, I have listed Le Tao as one of the must go places in Otaru. Upon locating the shop by the main road leading to Sakaimachi Street, I zoomed in on the Double Frommage Cheesecake and it was like the best cheesecake I have ever eaten. Quite pricey but heck, I have come a long way... More

Heard about the ice cream from this place. Looks really good. As I did not feel like eating any ice cream, I gave that a miss. The little shop near a hotel opposite the Otaru train station was a small branch. Did not impress me at all. It wasn't until I walked into Marchen St that I realized it was... More
