A charming quick eat spot with other diners slurping their noodles around you in authentic setting - menu choice of hot & cold soba dishes served rapidly. Put your name down on the door for your reservation - you can always try the sister restaurant...only 5min walk away if too busyMore

It was a hot and sweaty day in hakone when we went to visit and this place was a blessed relief. The wife is gluten free so she was ecstatic to find them serving proper soba noodles (I. E buckwheat) and the food did not...disappoint. The dishes were simple and quick and came in a lovely broth. You have to queue sometimes but they are quickMore

It’s on the way from town to our hotel... saw a long queue the previous night. Next day, decided to have early lunch there. Place was not big... sits maybe less than 20, but cozy and comfortable. Soba was exquisite... beautiful texture, and sauce not...too overpowering. Reasonably priced for the quality. Service was prompt and polite. I’d think of this place every time I had cravings for soba!More

Omg, this soba restaurant is so good! We were drawn to it by the crowd that was waiting. We went at an off hour around 3pm and we waited only about 5min! It’s super tiny so I understand why there is usually a wait. We...ordered the cold soba with Tempura combo and the katsu-don style soba. Highly recommend the combo! The service is amazing and location was close to our Ryokan! Not good for large groups. We had a group of 4, any higher you’ll probably wait a while. Highly recommend!!!More

Ate soba with shrimp tempura at this little gem in Hakone. We waited 30 minutes for a shared table but it was worth the wait. Noodles were delicious as was the shrimp.

We tried their specialty, grated yam soba. It’s really food for the adventurous. We won’t try it again :p Their curry soba wasn’t nice so I don’t recommend it. The rest of soba dishes were delicious. The cold soba with tempura was the best. There...was a queue but it was managed very well and moved very fast.More

Not bad. Went there later one night. My partner had the yam egg cold soba and I had the curry pork soba. My partner’s was a little strange but decent (probably won’t order again) and mine was quite tasty.

By far the best soba I've ever eaten! Staff were friendly and attentive, although with limited English which was fine by us. Highly recommend this place if you want to try authentic soba.

Very good food I would definitely recommend a visit here. We put our name down but we're seated within 5 minutes. The staff were were friendly and spoke just enough English to get by. We sat up stairs at a shared table. But there was...floor seating as well. If you can sit down stairs it looked a bit nicer near the river. If you order the prawn tempura I would advise the one not in the broth as the batter gets soggy (obviously). I had the egg and chicken and it was delisious.More

We wandered around to take photo after register the name with waitress as there is a long queue when we reached the place, but the waiting time is just about 20mins. After our name is called, we been arranged to sit with two different groups...of Japanese client. Shop is cozy and every table is shared, unless you get the bar seat. The waitress was unfriendly to tourist, but it doesn't bother us. We ordered one Tempura Soba and one Cold Soba. The Tempura Soba wasn't that good, there is better one in other places. This also my first time to try Cold Soba with fermented potato and raw egg. The soba look nice when it first served to us, then we mixed up all the ingredient as per the Japanese guest advised who seat next to us. When I put into mouth, I felt like the smelly bubble is dancing inside my mouth. It taste awful, maybe it was not my cup of tea, I cant even finished and feel like wanna spit it out. We expect more for this hundred years shop, but I'm afraid this will be my first time and last time visit the restaurant.More

I don't recommend any English speaking tourist come to this restaurant. The hostess asked us to leave even though we waited 30 minute for a table after signing in. She then sat several other Japanese patrons when we came back to ask why we were...asked to leave. While most of Japan are very welcoming and accommodating, this establishment is the exception. Save yourself the confusion and insult and eat elsewhere.More

This was my first time having soba on my trip and it was well worth waiting for this. The flavor was amazing. I went solo around 4pm and had no wait getting in. I'll have to go back to try a different dish tomorrow!

A simple and cute place with a divine view of the river. I had the soba with tempura prawns, my husband had the chicken with soba. Both fabulous. Nice draft beer. Perfect. We both couldn't finish so not sure why anyone would say it's a...small serving?!More
