Wow, I was impressed that it tasted just like the malasadas that they sell in Hawaii. You will not be disappointed it's was delicious.

Inside World Porter’s in Yokohama is a unique area called Hawaii Town, where all the stores are either satellites of stores from Hawaii or Hawaii-themed. Japan has a deep love for Hawaii and that’s why I’m not entirely surprised that Hawaii Town exists. I was a bit surprised to see some familiar stores - there’s even a Honolulu Coffee Company and a Leonard’s! As an avid Hawaii fan and frequent visitor (we’ve been 3 times in the last 5-6 years) I had to try them out. The Honolulu Coffee Company smells the same – every single one that I’ve ever been to smells like macadamia nut coffee. The coffee sort of tastes similar but it’s missing a certain something. The Leonard’s smells the same – but the malasadas don’t taste the same. They’re less doughy and have far too much filling. They’re also not as fluffy – the outside feels oiler somehow. If you’ve had the real thing, the Leonard’s inside Hawaii Town probably won’t cut it. Even as I write this, I wish I had a King Kamehameha or Leonard’s malasada in my hands.

Queue a short bit for this fried donut/choux with green tea filling. The pastry was good but the filling was sickly sweet. My partner who has a sweet tongue found it too sweet too.

Love Leonard's stopped in with my daughter for the custard filled and chocolate filled yummy little delights. We always go in Waikiki and really enjoyed having them here in Yokohama.

I just stumbled on Hawaiian Town by accident and nothing thrilled me till I reached the ATM machine which is conveniently located next to a Leonards. well had to wait for my donuts but nice and hot and taste the same as in Hawaii. price will cost you more here but what isn't cheaper here. maybe Daiso will sell em but thats what those coins are for.

Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. I usually get the original malasada, but tried their mango one this time around and it didn't disappoint. Their donuts are so crispy on the outside, and puffy and chewy on the inside. My only regret is not ordering more so that I could enjoy them at home.

I am from Hawaii and know Leonard's well. One of my business partners decided to buy some malasadas and gave me a couple. I was surprised that the one I ate hot was just as good or better than from the Hawaii stores. I was full so saved the second one for the next morning. I was impressed how crisp the outside was and how the granalated sugar was still in good shape and how fluffy and chewy the center remained even after being left out overnight in its brown bag. My past experience is a soggy messy day after malasada...so I was pleasantly surprised. Nice Hawaii theme and price was a little higher than in Hawaii but still reasonable.
