One of my friends brought us to Nam Heong for tea break. Nam Heong is supposed to famous for its coffee and dim sum. My friend prefers Nam Heong to other places. We only had coffee and chee cheong fun with curry sauce and pork...skin. An interesting combination for chee cheong fun. In Ipoh, you can have chee cheong fun 3 ways i.e. with chillies and sweet sauce, with curry sauce and with mushroom sauce. Overall I thought the coffee is a tad too sweet for me. The curry chee cheong fun is good. The curry sauce is more of a watery version. The chee cheong fun is very soft and tasty.More

A MUST try when in Ipoh. Worth the wait, best coffee freshly brewed, egg tart is the best seller and highly recommended. Char siew bao filling is fragrant, good roast pork. Kaya Toast sold out, must be their signature too cos every table had that....They also have Char Koay Teow, Hokkien Prawn Mee , Koey Teow Soup, Curry Mee and assorted Dim Sum.More

It is a busy restaurant. The foods are tasty, servings are mostly in small size. The egg tart is their trademark, it was very good!

Staff has a habit of completely ignoring customers. Don’t expect anyone to greet you upon arrival. Nobody will show you to a table, you just have to go and sit when somebody else leaves. White coffee was average, nothing special though very cheap which seems...to be the only real appeal of this joint. Egg tarts were bland, eggy tasting, not creamy and barely any sweetness. Maybe that appeals to the local palate but I prefer the original style I had in Lisbon, which are a hundred times better.More

Had breakfast at Nam Heong Coffeeshop. Long queues to get a table and then another queue to order Nam Heong's dim sum. We eventually found a table at the back alley beside the drain. The place to go for egg tarts. They also serve dim sum including siew mai. Their lor mai kai is really delicious, especially as the lupcheong is very fragrant. In fact, was wishing that we had packed extra to being to the hotel room. There...are other stalls within that serve noodles etc but most come for the tarts. The coffee was okay, though not the best we had in Ipoh.More

Ordered the famous egg tart, chicken pie and Char Siew Pau. Goes very well with the coffee. Food offered by other stalls in the Coffeeshop was below par.

The white coffee and egg tarts are highly recommended by many from the internet. As it is also a short walk to the concubine street, I drove to this coffee shop hoping to get a taste of the coffee and the egg tarts. I arrived...at about 2pm on a Sat and it is packed. Luckily, a tabled was cleared after a 10mins wait and we quickly ordered the coffee, egg tarts and some dim sum. The coffee was great, slightly bitter and thick. I felt the egg tarts were also good, as it has one of the most amount of egg in a tart i have ever tasted. The egg texture was ok, not fantastic nor lousy. The other dim sum was fine, again not fantastic nor lousy. The coffee shop was full throughout the 30-45mins that i was there.More

Nam Heong has opened another shop next door to accommodate more people. Always have breakfast here whenever I visit Ipoh. However, be there by 7 am to avoid long queues during holidays. Recommended foods: egg tart, coffee. A cup of authentic hot coffee is how...you should start a day. 😊More

The original home of ipoh white coffee. Also of note is the yong tau foo with the special homemade fishballs. When ordering the char kuey teow, ensure the food delivered is your order and not someone elses if you dont fancy an unexpected kerang surprise....We were seated at the back lane shop as main one was crowded. Good social distancing maintained.More
