Went to this nicely decorated Cafe for cake after dinner. The cafe has several areas for different groups of customers and the ambience is good. Nice place for couples & families. We did not order any food this round but just a slice of cake....The Tiramisu cake was huge and delicious but it was not cheap. Will come back for more next time.More

Longest Cafe in Penang, probably in Malaysia too! When I'm in Penang, I tend to throw my supposedly-strict-diet out the window. After all, I don't go to this island often and when I do, I just have to eat what it has to offer. The...lunch at Hon Kei earlier was satisfying and fulfilling - so much that I almost had food coma. Then the seemingly still hungry kids screamed "cakes and coffee" when they got up the car, it was like they knew what was in my mind.. lol! My destination - China House. China House is a traditional compound of 3 heritage buildings, linked by an open air courtyard and converted into 14 spaces comprising shops, cafes, restaurant, galleries, live music and bakery.  No kidding! Measuring about 400 feet, or 120 metres.. it's longer than 1/4 of my school's field track. I remember walking from the front door all the way to the end and back, going through different corners and sections of the cafe - indoor or alfresco area. Then only I sat down to enjoy the post-meal desserts. ◾chocolate mocha tart served with coffee ice cream ◾double chocolate banana loaf ◾flat white ◾pour over Offering more than 50 cakes (or desserts) everyday, on top of the usual breakfast/lunch menu.. coffee, even wines and craft beers.. this cafe is one of the must visit when in Penang. I'm a tourist.. not local ok?More

We went for dinner but there was only a very limited snack menu due to Covid of which the chicken and mushroom pie was not available. Two type of hamburgers and roast chicken seemed to be all there was. We also had wine. We did...not order cakes as no ice cream or cream was available and there were no fruit tarts. What was we had hoped to be an enjoyable dinner was a huge disappointment.More

A nice place to chill with family or friends. Their food, especially the cake, taste good and the environment is comfy. Their staff are also friendly and at the same time you can enjoy drawing while waiting for your order since paper and crayons are...well prepared over there.More

Tiramisu with alcohol is a must for me. Its really taste so special! And they offered tiramisu which without alcohol too. I once tried a special drink that was offered during Christmas (2017) and it was so impressive even though the price of the drink...was RM30++ if not mistaken. But it was really nice, and I forgot the drink name, which made me so...........More

This was a complete disappointment. We waited 20 minutes to get in. Placed an order for tea and cake. After 50minutes we had not been served. Overrated and a waste of time.

I can probably say that China House is one of a kind based on its interior, from the selection of decor to the souvenirs for sale there. Went to have the Christmas menu special, and was a little underwhelmed with the main course. Unsure of...whether it was because it's a seasonal specialty, but it definitely didn't scream as a meal I'd recommend others to have. Buuttt then there are the good pastries and cakes there which I would go back for. So, I suppose it balances out and that you'll need to try chef recommendations above all else if you're dining.More

An 'A' for its ambience. Really a nice fusion concept all in one - hipster, classy, scenic and artistic decoration. We loved it. Staff were super friendly. But foods are really, really average and expensive! You can find better foods, cakes and coffee with cozy...relaxing environment at other cafes nearby. We ordered nachos, its signature burger, ayam perchik, nasi rendang, a few cakes, latte, cuppocino and few other meals which are just okay, nothing to shout about. It is just a mere hype.More

It was playing jazz and some local music during the time of my visits (evening). Open around 9am and serves through the day I was told.
