This is the local German Restaurant. It had an interesting menu, with something on there for most. The beer was rather expensive and unfortunately it suffers from a noisy gang of expats, who, like others, always seem to let themselves down in other peoples countries. Ignore these people and you can sit at the back and try something a little... More

Havent been here since last year. Still the same conclusion as last year. Bad food. Way below average is a compliment methinks. Meat too dry, not marinated enuf. Bland taste, be it lamb, pork or chicken. Stay away. One wonders why its still operating fer umpteen years.

Visited twice during a recent visit. First time was on a Wednesday when the special was a huge rack of ribs for two. Excellent value. Good menu, draft beer and selection of wines. Friendly service, well presented and tasty food served in a clean environment.

The food is very much what one is served in a similar establishment in Germany. So it does not get any more authentic. Moreover, in the day and age of fusion and similar bite-sized crimes, Ingolf's still serves proper German helpings of slabs if meat and sides plus salad. If you are looking for real German food, prepared by award... More

Found this fabulous German restaurant/bar tucked away behind the Mutiara Selera in Hillside (Tanjong Bungah). What a gem. The service is fabulous, great atmosphere & the food is to die for. We had the 'special' chicken breast & pork chop.....it was a huge feed but sooo tender & succulent & the sauce was mouthwatering. Chased it down with a Guinness... More

Very nice little place with good food and drink . Really nice for families or friends looking for a quiet meal together. Saw that most tables were reserved so in my opinion that's a very good . Staff were very friendly and we didn't have to wait very long for our meals

I have been this restaurant few times. They serve tasty food. However, staffs are rude and they are not customer oriented. The way the manger treated us make me feel like he doesn't like local customers.

Dear customer, we are truly sorry about your experience in our restaurant. I am the owner and I would like to assure you that we treat all our customers equally. Our customers are about 80% local Malaysians, a few Expat and mm2h people. I would like to apologise for any improper treatment you might have encountered. Ingolf More

Most authentic German food that can be found in Penang. Their sausage is really good and also the pork dishes. The meat is really firm and well cooked with great taste. Price is reasonable and great portion. The restaurant has a nice ambience as well, suitable for night hangouts.

I like the sausages and chicken they serve in Ingolf's along with the presentation of the food. However, what I do like more than that is the overall atmosphere of the venue: the staff were casual (in a good way), making small talk here and there.

2 things that comes to our mind when we thought of German restaurant, pork knuckle and beer! Ingolf offers a large variety of beer and wine together with a comfy bar filled with mainly westerners at night.. If you come specifically for its pork knuckle, make sure you visit only on monday, it's not available on other days.. Other food... More
