Gnawa Blues is a very basic but fantastic place to eat. We visited Gwana Blue everyday for an amazing brunch at exceptional value - The owner is so kind and helpful. Please visit if you are in Essaouira

Had a lovely omelette which he made me even though it wasn't on the menu! Complimentary olives and bread and the owner is really friendly and speaks good English. Excellent value for money.

Myself and my husband ate lunch here and the food did not disappoint. We sat outside which was lovely in the square, albeit quite windy! The welcome you receive is lovely, very friendly family run restaurant. I had the sardines of the day-marinated in cumin, paprika, argan oil, garlic and served with rice and veg - it was absolutely gorgeous.... More

My first meal in Essaouira and definitely a good start. A slow slow service, but i'm learning thats Moroccan style, but the food was excellent. Chicken Tagine with preserved lemon was fresh, juicy, and piping hot. The bread and olives was great and the only thing missing was a glass of wine, which I heard they serve later in the... More

After reading all the positive reviews on here, I decided to pay a visit for dinner tonight. I was the only person in the resturant when I arrived. No music at all. Sadly I can't speak French nor Arabic. I had a hard time to order the food. After the dinner, the bill was wrong and I had to explain... More

I came upon this restaurant almost by chance. I was travelling with a friend and we are keen on music and saw the sign for this restaurant. It is not a big place, long and narrow with one row of tables. We spoke to man at lunch time who filled us in on what happens with the music and food... More

Of the six meals that we ate in town, this was the best. The food was delicious, the host was very friendly and it happened to be the cheapest food we ate. We would recommend it to all.

Very affordable simple and tasty lunches and friendly people serving it. We visited it twice, partly to enjoy the Gnawa music (CD's available!) and it is a most convenient location after spending time in the medina
