The two guys at the front door are really comical trying to look all tough , asked if we have reservation which we did , spoke to someone in his ear piece and then parted like two tree trunks to let us through . No...smile of course. Inside was beautiful and modern , we got a great waiter with a sense of humour . Service , food was exceptional . We were told there will be a show later and we could sit at the bar and watch . My husband spilled some sauce on his shirt and the waiter gave him a magical wipe that did not leave a stain , and I asked if I could have the whole packet which he gave us. It’s a place to see and be seen . Lots of beautiful women with lots of work done to their faces -all in bling shiny dresses, but classy versions of it . I left my husband at the bar to go to bathroom and came back to two women next to him trying to communicate in their broken English . Had to shoo them off . All in all great experience but it’s definitely a scene to be there and you have to dress up like it’s Oscars regardless how freezing you are :)More

A complete rip off of a place. Avoid it at all cost. They took 2 hours to serve our food and then brought us a stupid bill. Do not go there!

We are well-familiar with Moscow club scene, so "face-control" isn't an issue, but we were met by a couple of menacing looking guys (MMA-style, if you know what I mean) - they didn't give us a hard time, but it wasn't "welcoming" to say the...least. We were escorted to our table. The service afterwards was superb....proper attention, serve time, and communication ...the best we have ever experienced in Moscow. The food is great, the desert was amazing. From there on things started to go sideways... A friend of ours was supposed to stop-by, and he wasn't let in....we paid an UPFRONT DEPOSIT for the table, about 1K USD....I don't know the "guy" personally, but I'm sure he wasn't some sort of a bum. I was also a witness to a very insulting scene, when a company of friends (normal looking people) was turned down for the entrance. While us, Russians, are used to this type of treatment (unfortunately) visitors from "civilized" world are somewhat buffed why their friends cannot come into a place where they have a table (PAID F***G table)? That created separation in the group...we decided to leave....but we left in all in different time. While we were leaving, ALL of US were stopped by the waiters, and asked, directly, for a "tip" or service charge. Myself, and my wife, were asked to pay the bill, twice, and of course the tip!!!! It all started as a great place, but at the end it turned out to be a regular Moscow trash spot ...similar to Duran, SoHo, etc.... a pity...More

The restaurant is beautiful, elegant and confortable. Cooking is well done, with quality and presentation of food is nice. For drinking, cocktail and wine have a large diversity. Price are correct. Service is efficient, elegant, even a bit sophisticated. The only point a bit disappointing...: we came there a monday and there wasn’t any other customer except us. Probably friday and saturday evening are more animated. To try !More

Usually, I do not write reviews for places I dine at, but The Toy was exceptional in the service, food, ambiance, and hospitality. When I arrived at The Toy, I was promptly greeted by their hostess who showed us around the venue and showed us...to our seats. Not long after we were introduced to the manager of the restaurant, Vladimir, he welcomed us to Moscow and made recommendations on the favorite dishes at The Toy but also made recommendations on other places to visit in the city. It is obvious his priority is to make sure his guests have the best time both inside and outside his establishment. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese, and it was delicious! I was delightfully surprised by the portion sizes as well. A lot of times when I dine at fine establishments such as this, I always feel hungry 45 minutes later, but not here! I cannot wait to be back in Moscow so I can dine and party here again. Thanks, Vladimir!More

The best restaurant-club in moscow. Customer service was outstanding from the start, Katerina was very helpful with the reservation in English and provided a direct channel for communication for all needs. The service at the tables and bar was great, and the food was fantastic....The menu has great prices and a wide selection, including exquisite dishes. On Fridays and Saturdays the restaurant turns into a party extravaganza with performers and costumes. Great live DJs and space to dance, with areas that are not too loud to talk. One of the best parties I’ve had in Moscow. The design of the place is on another level, modern and classy, details attended to perfection. Highest recommendation!More

First of all, I would like to mention, that this is the first Review I have ever written for a Restaurant or any other establishment, not only on TripAdvisor, for the sole purpose of which I have registered myself here on TripAdvisor. Normally, I don't...feel a necessity to write a Review and in particular don't find time for such. However, although I believe that The Toy does not need any Reviews, because I am certain that this new Restaurant will surely and rightfully become one of the most succesful Restaurants in Moscow by word-of-mouth recommendation, only, here is my Review: During my extended stay in Moscow I have spent three evenings in The Toy together with a close friend of mine. I had previously and meanwhile visited other established Restaurants in Moscow, names which typically come into mind when looking them up on TripAdvisor and asking local people. However, none of these has provided the same professional and exquisite experience like The Toy. Atmosphere and Service The atmosphere in The Toy is very welcoming due to its very luxurious interior and details and warm ambient light in a modernly redesigned Villa located in one of the hotspot areas of Moscow City. There are a lot of waiters, which are very ambitious, mindful and speak fluent English. The service was always on point, no matter if it is giving suggestions from the Menu, the catering and handling of food and drinks as well as the conversational tone and professional appearance. Food and Drinks The food is delicious yet light. It is presented pleasant to look at yet comfortable to eat. I can honestly not give any particular suggestion for any food, because everything has tasted great and I have tried a lot of things from the Menu. However, they have a Menu that is particularly suggested by the Chef and which was just as excellent as any other. The food alone would convince me to prefer The Toy over any of the other haute cuisine restaurants that I have tried in Moscow. The drinks were very tasty, not too light but also not too strong. Prices for food and drinks were very adequate for this type of Restaurant. We have tried the different sets of liquors, which included a mixture of flavors and liquor. I can only recommend these. We have also been having a party with a larger group of friends, which we actually met before in The Toy and which came back to it just as we did. The bottle service was on point just as any other service here. Also, all the waiters and generally the entire team of The Toy came around and celebrated with us with all their joy. Show and Party On Friday and Saturday, we had a show starting at approximately 11 pm with great music from a live DJ, several beautifully and varyingly dressed live performers at the tables and on the stage and even a host who was moderating the show and party which started at that point. This was an amazing experience and icing on the cake to the great overall experience we had every day in The Toy. Summary This place is marvelous. I can suggest The Toy to anyone who loves haute causine, a fancy show and wants to feel welcome from the first second that he enters this Restaurant. In my opinion, this place is great for any occasion, no matter if it is with friends, a large group or for business purposes, for example. Pick the right date and time depending on whether you want a nice relaxed evening or a show and some party afterwards, which will generally be on the weekends and at a later time, from my experience. Mind the dress code, because this Restaurant and the Guests admitted are very fashionable and dressed adequately for a place like this. If possible, make a reservation in advance, in particular on the weekends, because otherwise this place will be booked out for dinner. However, you might still be able to get a spot at one of the two large bars. Special Thanks Personally, I would like to thank Vladimir and Jura from The Toy at this point in particular, although everyone I was in contact with deserves a huge Thank You from my side for the great Evenings I experienced at The Toy. Jura has been hosting the Show and Party on our evenings and we had such a blast together; the entertainment from his side was fabulous. Vladimir has been managing the Restaurant and had approached us during one of our dinners. My friend and I had fabolous conversations, a lot of laughters and drinks together with him. It was a truly unique experience to meet somebody as ambitious and welcoming as Vladimir. He introduced us to further Guests and thanks to him we found a lot of new friends. Vladimir lead us to unforgettable nights together at The Toy and even beyond it. I cannot await to come back to dine, talk and party in The Toy the next time I will be in Moscow, Vladimir. If you read this, have the warmest greetings from your new friend from Germany.More
